outside of internet forums, twitter, etc. the only people i know who are even aware/give a shyt about asap are cacs (the trend hopping kind)

but all my nikkas know bout keef he's in that gucci mane/boosie lane, nothing on tv or anything but nikkas stay playin his shyt....

yea thats why i think its a fai comparison .. when ppl hear of "problems" they dont think of asap rocky they think of 2-chainz kendrick and drake.

i played it in the club the other day. had to play all 3 verses ... and to be honest .. out of all the versese ppl were singing to. they knew kendrick verse word for word ...

In what circle? Rocky's buzz last summer, when "Peso" and "Purple Swag" dropped sure seemed bigger than Keef's.

And Rocky has keyed into the most important thing to sell records and sellout shows as a rap artist in 2012: create a movement.

People don't buy records because they like the single anymore. Those days are gone. If they like the song they heard from an artist on the radio, at best they'll download it from iTunes, and in most cases, probably just download it illegally.

Records are sold when the fanbase buys into the artist and what they (think) that artist represents. It's why J. Cole did 200K and Big Sean did 80K when Sean's songs were 10x bigger.

Having said all that, I'd be more likely to trust Interscope than broke ass Polo Grounds/RCA, so Rocky may have a bit of a handicap there.

Don't Like and Love Sosa are way bigger than those cuts Rocky had.. people outside of NYC and the internet been bumping them.

Interscope hasn't really spent shyt on marketing Keef, his boy shoots all those low budget videos.. when the machine actually starts to pay radio stations to play his music you'll see the difference.


Rocky hasn't had much success with his two singles and his album has been pushed back 2 times.

RCA isn't exact a rap label...it's where all these nikkas ended up cause Jive,Arista and J records folded.

the fact that RCA literally has a big ass roster of artists, with no divisions for specific types of music...will be why Rocky doesn't sell like his perceived buzz says it should.

Im not a fan of either, but lets be real. The nikka Keef is spearheading the whole chi town "drill music" movement. And he got his nikkas put on. Gbe buzz is crazy right now. I think asap rocky's "buzz" has died down alot from when he first dropped Pesos. My bet is on Keef
