I agree 100%.

Most Nigerians are very educated. I wish Ghanaians were like that.
When I was in my engineering class in college, every black person I came across was either a Nigerian or South African.

Same with the current company I'm working for...there are only 2 blacks in this IT firm.

It's me and a Nigerian (software developer)

Nigerians do not play with education, I have to applaud them for that.

I'm pretty sure 1st and 2nd generation Nigerian Americans are gonna slowly merge with the African American population, through intermarriage and etc. And cultural titles, wealth, and connections back in Nigeria will begin to hold more weight in social standing here in the American Nigerian communities.

I wonder how that will affect both groups.

Nigerians stick to their own. I was smashing this yoruba lighskin Nigerian chick a few years ago....she told me her parents made it clear they won't allow her to marry anything other than another Nigerian.

I wasn't trying to marry her so I didn't care but they stick to their own, especially the women.

who came up with the term Network/Software Engineering?

Did I come up with those terms? Your beef should be with the people who created network engineering not me.

I'm just repeating a settled debate over what engineering is.
You are free to challenge the powers that be that IT is not engineering. :russ:

Good luck with that.

So I see Network Engineering or Software engineering is not the right terminology for that kind of work. :beli:

There is no point in arguing over a settled debate breh. You feeling a different way is not going to change the definition.
You are entitled to your wrong opinion :ehh: which is barely shared by anyone outside the internet. :bryan:

Traditionally, but more and more of us are marrying our American counterparts. Our parents are against it, but they can't really do anything about it.

I remember vividly my mom and aunts having a big whine fest that all my older cousins were marrying and having children with American black women.

You're right about the women being a little more picky, but even Nigerian women are starting to marry out more often.

Nobody considers IT people engineers outside of IT people. Thats like Nurses calling themselves Drs. Wheres ya ring at?

Im just saying stop calling yourself an engineer to look important on the net. You still have a respectable job, just not one you need a degree for.

Again this your opinion..........which you are entitled to.

It is not shared by anyone outside the internet....The debate is settled....there is no point in trying to pass your opinion as a fact.

Network/Software engineering is a UNIVERSALLY accepted terminology for the kind of work we do.
