Like I said in another thread Ali is a bad matchup for even prime Mike Tyson and it's no slight to Tyson at all, Tyson was one of the most gifted fighters to get in the ring BUT Prime Ali was more battle tested, and on top of that his range and accuracy were like no one else, plus he has considerable stamina advantage. Ali would just have to drag the fight to 7-8 rounds and on top of that Ali has a steel chin.

Yeah anyone not named Ken Norton or Joe Fraizer need not apply.

All those videoclips of Tyson knocking out electricians and brick layers dont prove anything..He was never tested in his prime so there's no way you can put him above Ali, thats crazy talk. I think Lennox Lewis in 90-92 would have beaten Tyson. They ducked away from fighting Lewis with good reason

Tyson also wanted no part of Holyfield when they were younger after Holyfield spoke of moving up in weight class to fight him.

Most reasonable post in the thread

No, he just didn't train, and stayed up snorting coke and banging Japanese hoes with Bobby Brown the night before.

Well, with that logic, if a stiff like Henry Cooper and a journeyman like Doug Jones could give Ali problems, then what could '88 Tyson do?

Hell, Henry Cooper almost knocked Ali out. Prime Ali

Tyson beat the entire Ring top 10 heavyweights of the year he became champion.

Show me anybody else who's done that?

He beat everybody he could beat.

He fought the entire Ring Top 10 heavyweights of the year he became champion.

They weren't tomato cans.

He just made top 10 fighters LOOK like tomato cans.

Michael Spinks was a Ring top 10 ranked P4P fighter when Tyson obliterated him in 90 seconds.

Ali was not a foot taller than Tyson:russ:

He's 6'3" and Tyson was 5'11. That's 4 inches.

Tyson was not just about raw power.

Have y'all watched D'Amato's Tyson?

Outside of Ali & Joe Louis, he was the most skilled heavyweight of all-time.

And outside of Ali, he was untouchable defensively

Then I was wrong on the height when I meant the reach. If you think Mike would beat Ali, you smoking son.

His best years were at light heavyweight breh.

He beat the longtime heavyweight champion Larry Holmes twice and was the legitimate lineal champion & P4P top 10 in the world.

I actually think that most people are completely uneducated on Muhammad Ali's skill set. In his prime people literally could not hit Ali.

Tyson would have had to be in at close to do damage, but he would not have been able to do that against Ali when Ali was in his prime.

Nobody's uneducated about Muhammad Ali's skill set.

Literally everybody knows "floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee".

What they don't know is D'Amato/Rooney era Tyson's defensive skills, speed, and skill level, hence people claiming he was just "brute power".

He beat the entire top 10 from the year he became champion (except Buster Douglas), including the champion, Spinks.

Those weren't bricklayers.

Those were top 10 heavyweights in the world.

And no, Lennox who got knocked out by Tyson's sparring partner would not have beaten Tyson unless he chose not to train and do drugs and fukk hoes the night before like he did against Douglas

Prime Tyson doesn't even beat prime Holyfield much less prime Ali

Wrong, roided up Evan Fields went life & death with Michael Dokes and Ray Mercer, who got beaten by Larry Holmes 4 years after Tyson obliterated him.

Tyson also wanted no part of Holyfield when they were younger after Holyfield spoke of moving up in weight class to fight him.

Wrong. Tyson & Holyfield were scheduled to fight when he lost to Douglass.

Then again, when he caught those rape charges.

Unless you're claiming that he caught rape charges and loss to Buster Douglas on purpose.

Then I was wrong on the height when I meant the reach. If you think Mike would beat Ali, you smoking son.

I never said he would or wouldn't.

I said it would be a much better fight than the Ali stans are making it out to be and Tyson could absolutely win.

Overall, I'm 60/40 Ali, because I think that late '60s Ali is the greatest heavyweight who ever lived, but Tyson in his prime isn't that far behind.

Ali would beat him prior to the fight....Tyson 1 of my favorites but he was always suspect mentally as a fighter

:what: prime tyson was not weak mentally.. he was a locked in killer that never got off balance in the mind games

you guys pick and choose the arguments for why you choose the reasons but take the boxer you think would lose and put them outside of their prime to make these arguments

If it went down like the numerous times it did in Fight Night Champion then it's Ali:russ:. Ali has the reach that would frustrate the fukk out of Tyson.

Brick layers and electricians... you are the worst type of poster

the same kind that think michael jordan played against those types as well

just the worst to have any kind of real conversation with

People will never be honest when it comes to Ali as there has boxers after him who would take him out. For definite, Lewis at 6'6 with great speed beats him but Ali would knock out Thanos according to "y'all":beli: so that ain't happening I guess

Name me 3 decent fighters than Tyson beat without googling it. Jordan played at the highest level in a team sport, that analogy you made there is just dumb

Tyson was great for his era, don't get me wrong but if he was around in the 60s and 70s he'd have been just another heavyweight

TYL
Prime Mike “I want to eat your kids, praise be allah” Tyson for 1st round knockout. Tyson is only like 5’9 and was knocking ninjas out 6’0 and up in less than 15 seconds lol. I remember watching the Michael Spinks fight as a kid and this is when we had cable boxes that had the wood grain and digital numbers on them and when the fight were like $50. The cable started tripping right when the prelim’s started. My pops cursing and shyt and hitting the cable box like it made a F on a report card. I was like 11 or 12 and I’m sitting back just looking at this ninja kill this cable box...he had to hit that box like fourteen times and then on the fifteenth, the feed came back on and he turns around all happy and shyt and says “Son, patience is the key to life”....I’m looking at the tv and was like “Pops the fight’s about to start...”
this ninja still talking. I’m like “Pops, they are in the ring...”....this ninja still talking....Tyson and Spinx touch gloves....”Dad, the fight has started..” he still talking...” I point at the tv...he turned around and Spinx is laying on the floor...” My Pops lost it.
