The reason for brons longetivity and many other athletes today is because of hgh and testosterone replacement therapy. These athletes today aren't aging like normal human beings.

Depends on the era

If u playing with the old nba rules magic hands down, because he can handle the physical abuse mentally and the hand checking no zone defenses

If u playing with the new rules lebron

Magic had Kareem Worthy Scott already on his team already. Why would he leave? You think Magic wouldnt think about leaving If he spent his first 7 yrs with MO WILLIAMS and BOOBIE GIBSON???

from the players you listed, kareen was the only person on the lakers there when magic arrived. worthy was the number 1 pick in the 83 draft and scott came a few years after.

I would take Magic because he dominates without having to be the primary scorer, plus he runs a hell of a fastbreak. His game naturally allows another star to be the primary scorer. Not to mention a 6'9" guard is simply unfair on the defensive side. To me Lebron is a better version of Bird, but neither is the foundation for a team, they are accessory players, they need someone else to make them great. Magic is already great, as evidenced when he dominated Game 6 of the NBA finals AS A ROOKIE. :wow: Magic all day.

Not saying I disagree but even ahead of MJ?
Absolutely, particularly in retrospect.

LeBron already has played more than Jordan and he doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. Add in the fact that Jordan was known to quit the game.

Based on pure longevity and dominance at a high level, you take LeBron first. The only conceivable argument is Kareem.

People here saying LeBron and its not close are misguided. There were question marks about LeBron coming out of high school. And to be honest, a lot of them have flared up in his subsequent career. Can LeBron pad the stat sheet? Yes. But there's more to winning than just that. Teams take on the personality of the best players. The Celtics in the 80s took on the personality of Bird. The Lakers in the 80s took on the personality of Magic. What personality does LeBron imbue his teams with? What super dominant team has LeBron ever led? Is LeBron a great player? Of course. But if Bird and LeBron are on the same team who do you think is getting the last shot? If LeBron and Kobe are on the same team, who's personality do you think the team takes? Even now, with LeBron, Kyrie and Love the Cavs weakly close out the season. In good conscience, I cannot cosign taking LeBron over either of those two guys, because there more to basketball than just stats or per. Basketball is about heart, and leadership, and mental toughness, and emotional toughness and those other two guys had those qualities much more than LeBron does. If you want arguably the most dominant player, you take LeBron and it's not close. If you want a leader, who your players are going to go in to battle with, I just don't see it.

Lebron is on Year 14 and already has more playoff games and miles than just about anybody in league history while still being elite. Magic had to retire early, Bird broke down, and MJ didn't made it to Year 14(Season 13) and looked damn near dead before taking another break.

Lebron is a guaranteed championship window by himself after Year 3. Give him a legit costar in Year 1 and it's a fukking problem.
