imagine bron wasting all his energy on D with handchecking and all that. he's gonna cramp every qtr. :mjlol:

built like tarzan and plays like jane in 80's :russ:

Are...are you just trolling or are you stupid? Lebron has played more minutes than any of those players and he's still putting up amazing numbers 26/8/8 and looking mighty fukking healthy.

Lebron was a DPOTY runner up in a year where he was the most versatile defensive anchor in the league on a championship-tier defensive squad where he was both the best rebounder, best defender, best scorer, and best playmaker on a team.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Magic is a better post defender and more disruptive off-ball....

Magic wasn't even in the same ball park as LeBron defensively, getting steals in an era where there were more possessions is :yeshrug: status. Bron at his best was an elite team defender, nothing about Magic's defense was ever elite.

Luckily we have steal percentage and Magic still trumps him :ohhh:

Lebron has no shot in hell of playing center even in a pinch against a Darryl Dawkins and in this era Magic could switch 1-5 and not just when teams go super small either :yeshrug:

lebron not being surrounded by 3 point shooters makes him less valuable in the 80s

Lebron averaged 30/8/5 PPG, in the playoffs, on 47% shooting with Larry Hughes, Ronald Murray, Eric Snow, Big Z, and Drew Gooden aka absolutely no 3 point shooting.

Lebron's value is still elite, even without 3P shooters. This was his 3rd year in the league.

He didn't say he wouldn't be elite, he said less valuable.....that efficiency and apg does nothing to disprove him.

You didn't need shooters before 2001-2002. The 1990-91 bulls won the finals in 5 games and made just 5 threes on the series. They were attempting 5.5 threes per game on the year. The blazers pushed them to the final minutes of game 6 while attempting less than 9 threes per game on the series. The 67 win 1999-2000 lakers were attempting less than 13 threes per game and were a top 5 offense. The 1994 rockets were attempting 15.7 threes a game and led the league in attempts. By comparison, the grizzlies take about 14-15 threes per game the last few years and that number is bottom 2 in the league. Teams shoot them now because you need to take and make at a high volume to beat a zone, which wasn't allowed back in the 80's and 90's.

You were talking strictly about steals when you said disruptive, Bron averaged more BPG:mjgrin:

LeBron has guarded C's in a pinch, so I'm not sure why you're saying he hasn't especially since LeBron is heavier, stronger and more athletic than Magic. You're not going to play revisionist on this one, Magic was never known for his defense, LeBron was an elite defender at points in his career ELITE.

Bird is getting underrated here.

If I can get an equal amount of prime from all 3 (i.e. Larry doesn't hurt his back and Magic avoids HIV) then Larry has a case as he's by far the best shooter. That spacing would be invaluable today.

I'll say LeBron, then Larry slightly behind, then Magic. I could see a case for all three in any order though.

Lebron has guarded light in the ass forwards disguised as centers.

And Magic's passing ability (his career assist percentage blows Lebron out of the water) combined at Lebron's career usage rate surrounded by shooters makes him the greatest offensive player we've ever seen....greater than Prime Shaq, Jordan, Wilt, Kobe and probably the greatest mismatch ever as a small ball 4.

we have a winner
Lebron's efficiency dives off a cliff in the halfcourt
and Magic basically becomes maybe the most dominant force in small ball era surrounded by shooters and lob threats
?
How did Bron win 2 MVPs on that wack ass Cleveland squad ? That wasnt a superteam at all
