and i mean, most of all…personal opinion. The fact that there’s hasn’t even been a much more names thrown around here to actually counteract it speaks volumes. Most of the thread is just joking about Nomura.

i’d also throw Sam Barlow in there, Ken Levine, and Josh Sawyer

I believe Neil is popular due to marketing. More names are not popping up because we generally don't know the names of the writers to games with better stories.

If you made a thread asking people to list stories that are better than TLOU then you'll get a better idea.

I prefer stories like Disco Elysium, Original Sin 2, BG3, Mass Effect and even Bioshock and Dragon Age Origins. Out if the games I listed I only know Ken Levine, once again due to marketing.

Its because he won two GOTY awards for both games.

And i don’t think mass effect, OS2 or even BG3‘s stories are better than TLOU. They have well written characters but the main stories are very forgettable.

Disco Elysium was just kinda boring to play so i can’t judge the story too much

Neil is very good but he's never done anything truly original or unique.

Uncharted and TLOU are both examples of flipping preexisting concepts and making it better - and in some cases that means making gaming more Hollywood, but not good enough for Hollywood.
