Naughty dog is similar to GTA. Good surface level story telling, but nothing deep and no lore. The GOAT story tellers need lore, otherwise it's a one and done thing.
The Witcher you can talk about all day long.
Santa Monica. You can talk about God of War all day long.
Hideo Kojima is another. You can talk about Metal Gear solid all day long.

Not trying to judge, but those are what you call 'casuals'. The Last of Us is surface level story telling, ANYBODY can do what Neil did. But how many people can do what CDPR or Hideo Kojima did?
The Last of Us has no real back story, there's no lore. Is it good? Sure, but it's amateur hour compared to the likes of Witcher, Cyberpunk, and God of War.

Lol gtfo, TLOU 2 was full of generic evil for the sake of evil BS, I love the games but this idea that the narrative is on another level just because they spent a ton of money on cutscenes is nonsense.
The story and script on those games is nothing special
I like TLOU2’s story even with the horrible pacing. I especially like how Neil didn’t play it safe with certain characters. But I wouldn’t say that the narrative “is on another level” lol.

You're not really giving any solid arguments. Neil's writing can absolutely be reciprocated, that's the entire point. The last of us is good, but it's one and done. Again, name someone who can do a game like the Metal Gear Solid or Witcher or the God of War series. Those games are backed by solid authors who wrote 3 and 4 books. God of War is it's own entity.
Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid stomps out anything Naughty Dog has made story wise. It's not even fair to compare. And Witcher 4 is catching even more bodies
