This Cole and JBL team is wackness in stereo... they don't sell anything and they just have me reaching for my pillow and blanket at all times. Cole doesn't know shyt about fukk... he like really doesn't know what any of the moves are called.

Personally, I would like RAW to be commentated by William Regal and Colt Cabana if they do end up bringing him in. Imagine Joey Styles and Paul Heyman commentating :ehh:.

What you guys think about the current announce team / putting different guys out there?

The current team is complete garbage, in the past year I've learned to watch the matches I'm really interested focusing solely on what's going on in the ring, commentary is just background noise at this point.

I don't know if anyone in that company can be a good play-by-play guy. Color commentators there's a lot of options (Regal being the best one), but you gotta remember JBL was fukking great when he first joined commentary and now he's almost unbearable most of the time.

There really aren't a lot of good pbp guys in wrestling right now. Just unmask Excalibur da gawd and give him the job :wow:

JBL can get very redundant, but hes definitely not the weak link. Cole is just awful. Surely WWE tells them to plug certain things and to talk about certain things other than the match, but when he is calling the action its awful. Lots of silence.

If you ever catch Raw in spanish, the announce team is amazing. They are mad hype and are calling the match 100 percent of the time. They never shut up either. If only I knew spanish :sadcam:

The guy on NXT kinda sounds like Joey Styles. Hes aight I guess.

Totally agree that announcing sucks these days and I blame Vince's overproduction. Commentators aren't allowed to have personalities anymore, kinda like refs not having names. I guess they don't want anyone outshining the overproduced in-ring talent.

That Dean Bolin guy from OVW back in teh day sounded EXACTLY like Gorilla. I was surprised they didnt bring him up. I like Josh Matthews calling the action, with Dean Ambrose and Kevin Nash on color

you can really tell they don't care about 99% of the stuff that happens, they probably hurt the mid card as much as anyone. they should sign don west

100% true. They're constantly going off on random tangents, dropping 50 year old references, and hyping main events during midcard matches. I think it was a Raw before TLC when they basically spent and entire (and completely unrelated) midcard match discussing Authority storyline. It's especially evident during divas matches. Always yelling over each other while Lawler makes shytty jokes and terrible puns. At the end of the day it's like, if the commentators don't care about this match, why should we?

But Alex Riley, William Regal and Renee Young would be my ideal commentary team.

Matthews is OK, but he fukking sucks at calling finishing sequences and nearfalls. There's little emotion and he can't build drama at all, those 2 things are key for a play-by-play guy.

yeah michael cole is annoying as fukk, JBL isnt as bad to me.

it makes it worse that Ive been watching old matches with Gorilla and Ventura and then try to watch the current shyt

I like the idea of Regal doing color commentary, idk who would be good at pbp.

Im watching Smackdown now and cole and JBL interrupt/talk over everyone who gets on guest commentary and cant let them finish a thought

It is only going to get worse, announcing isn't a priority anymore.

The current and next generation of new fans will never really know what good announcing is, and therefore won't miss it.

I always felt that wrestling play-by-play men need to more like actually play-by-play men in sports, actually call the action, have stats about the event, wrestlers, moves effectiveness, etc, and also talk about what the wrestlers told them in terms of kayfabe game-plans and strategies.Hopefully, when Vince no longer is in Cole or whoever ear overseeing the commentary that they would able to do that.

JBL isn't bad at all; actually I like him. Lawler is just mailing it in nowadays and seems lost without Jim Ross and Michael Cole just flat out sucks and blows. Get Joey Styles to do the play-by-play unless HHH can mend bridges with Jim Ross

Is JR at odds with WWE? I thought he just wanted to retire.

:pachaha: @ nearly everyone agreeing with me about throwing Cole in the bushes
