Rock is great. No doubt about it.

But to knock Cenas in ring ability is just stupid. I can hate the character and still objectively enjoy his matches.

Watch the MITB 11 match with Punk again. Not only is it a WRESTLING CLINIC ( ironically the only noticable botch was punks fault) but even that CHICAGO crowd was cheering for Cena by the end of the match. He won them over, relatively, with his work.
He didn't win anyone over...the kids were finally heard and that was a bunch of kick outs in that $hit too. Same $hit people cried about during the Rock/Cena II match.

CM Punk/Bryan at Over the Limit actually WRESTLED and without the bull$hit drama of no selling to give Cena the big comeback.

What kids? Where were the kids at the begining when Cena got booed out of the building?

Its OK to give cena credit you mark.

And while Punk/Bryan mightve been great no one remembers it the way Cegoat/Punk is remembered.

The kids that chanted for him during the match, you crazy motherfukk3r. Wasn't no grown man at MITB cheering for John Cena. What the fukk is wrong with you?
And no one remembers the other match because Punk cooled off with his comedy promos and taking a backseat to AJ. No one likes to talk about those days for him...in general.

The Rock is one the most well balanced wrestlers, I've ever seen, he is good technically, he can is one of the best sellers out there, he knows how to work the crowd, and he puts his all into every match. Over time though John Cena has improved dramatically over the years, and he's almost as good.

If im ever entertained by a Cena match its because of what the other guy is doing. Looking back at it, his brock matches people loved seeing him get destroyed. Owens matches was Owens pulling moves out of his ass to make cena look even more credible. Ambrose, Cesaro, Zayn are longtime crowd favorites. Honestly this isnt even close if were going by workrate, charisma, selling believability. Rocky got that hands down.
yeah I agree. the last 5 cena matches I enjoyed watching or wanted to see that were not Brock squashing him were the hour long match against Michaels, who can make anyone look good, his NOC 2008 match with triple h (he added some psychology going after the quad trips had torn the year before), money in the bank against punk (we all know who made the crowd care about that one), WM28 against the rock because he was the rock, and the triple threat with Rollins and Brock at the rumble. that is 5 matches in a span 8 years and 8 months. 5 matches in a span of 104 months. Everything else is finisher spamming, spot calling, and overcoming the odds against someone who needs the win more than he does while wrestling a match that has very little storytelling in it. Doesn't make him look good, it just makes his opponent look bad, even more so when you think about how ridiculous a lot of his offense looks too. Rock and it's a wider margin of victory than Lakers vs Celtics game 6 of the 2008 finals (131-92)
