One of those times where you can't believe it's a real question :heh:

The Rock's selling ALONE was more captivating than Cena's entire body of work.

Neither are "technical" maestros, but The Rock never tried to be. He wrestled with electricity, bravado, and was a great storyteller.

Meanwhile Cena tries to be technical and usually ends up looking stiff and sloppy with it outside of the strong man stuff(which he's great at). Cena also really sucks at selling anything.

The guy who made me start investing in wrestling vs the guy who has been making it boring for 10 years HMMMMMMMMMMMM TOUGH ONE :lupe:

Exactly lol

And the fact that there's several ppl in here saying Cena is better and has had great matches is reason number 1 why the product is garbage and dying.

breh had me like :dwillhuh: Cena has improved in his 13 years, but great technical wrestler? in what world? :heh: sloppy, botches, and mechanical, little to no story telling....
If im ever entertained by a Cena match its because of what the other guy is doing. Looking back at it, his brock matches people loved seeing him get destroyed. Owens matches was Owens pulling moves out of his ass to make cena look even more credible. Ambrose, Cesaro, Zayn are longtime crowd favorites. Honestly this isnt even close if were going by workrate, charisma, selling believability. Rocky got that hands down.

being able to sell like you're in real peril/turn the mean on like you're a legit psycho when you need to are heeling it up, most wrestling fans are attracted to that whether you know it or not.

Rock's psychology and timing are just flat out better. I felt legit bad for him watching the end of Backlash 2000, when he fought valiantly not to tap to Benoit while being taunted from the floor by Lesnar, when Austin lit him up with that chair. He sold Goldberg's spears like they were sledgehammers to the ribs etc. But he could also make you think he was legitimately dangerous (I very rarely watch Royal Rumble 1999) or him damn near killing shamrock with that chair shot.

Even when he's getting killed you RARELY feel like Cena is in trouble (except Summerslam 2014) and they refuse to let him flat out be MEAN like get fed up and hand out an ass whooping to a heel. I enjoy Cena's in ring work as he doesn't have bad matches these days, it just they ultimately end up meaning little because of follow up booking.

I believe you on the Punk and Bryan matches..you often speak of them. You watching Umaga/Cena and the Rumble match a lot though? Come on, man:laugh:

Umaga/Cena was piff, one of the best Last Man Standing matches I can remember

I'm an Umaga stan though :manny:

And that Rumble triple threat was superb, let's not go around rewriting history here man

Rock is great. No doubt about it.

But to knock Cenas in ring ability is just stupid. I can hate the character and still objectively enjoy his matches.

Watch the MITB 11 match with Punk again. Not only is it a WRESTLING CLINIC ( ironically the only noticable botch was punks fault) but even that CHICAGO crowd was cheering for Cena by the end of the match. He won them over, relatively, with his work.

The only aspect of wrestling that the rock is better at that isnt debatable is selling. Other than that anyone who votes one way or the other is not reaching. Give Cegoat his due.
