Bron...Though I will say Larry Bird gets overlooked WAY too much. Bird was one of those rare players that could do shyt on the court that you logically think wouldn't be possible.

Bron's athletic gifts and defense set him apart more than anything else.

I'm not getting into the whole "mentality" argument because that shyt is subjective as hell.

Bird was my dad's favorite player back in the 80s. Bird was a very cerebral player. he was also very long with underrated athleticism and dexterity. Dudes shooting stroke was water :wow:

But as of right now, I agree...Lebron has a slight edge in part because of his combination of size and athleticism to go with better defense. Lebron is arguably the GOAT SF right now and still has years left to create more of a separation from Bird. Bird is still a guy you put on your all-time team, whether he is starting or coming off the bench.

Larry was a match up nightmare as well, he was versatile, just not as athletic as Lebron.

Bron is the definition of a match up nightmare though. I know about Bird's versatility but Bron's athleticism makes him that much more versitle than any player we've ever seen.

Though I will saying i'm not drinking the "He can guard all 5 positions" Kool-aide when he's playing in a era that's lacking truly great big men.

Prime Larry was a pretty big dude too, he was like 6'9 235. Lebron is better but Larry's shooting stroke would be hard to defend because of it's arc, either way, both are Legends.

Lebron is better. Just more dominant.

game 7 of finals who you taking?
Lebron.

No other player in NBA History has lost with home court advantage more than Larry Bird has. Think about that for second.

10 times he had the better team and 7 times he lost. :merchant:

Both of those guys changed the game in the 80s. They could score, pass, and rebound. They also had a size advantage at their positions making them a matchup nightmare. Which is why I think Bron is more comparable to them.

Bron is a more athletic version of Magic. Imagine Bron being drafted by that Lakers squad when the game was more open and all those scorers :whew:

This thread gets made at least once a month on here. But still Ima go with Lebron but Bird was a beast too. There is no wrong pick with two choices like that.
