Who's discography is better, 2 Pac or Kanye West?

I think there are many paths to becoming a hip hop expert, comparing Kanye to 2Pac is most definitely NOT one of them Quite a few posters here have posted Pac songs similar to Kanye's offerings but on a more lyrical basis, nobody has posted a Kanye song that comes close to a Hail Mary, a Dear Mama, an Against All Odds, Kanye just doesn't have that kind of energy in him.

Course there is, was just talking about myself. There's many diverse paths.

The only real criteria is REALLY knowing your shyt.

I'm going to answer your question, as I don't think your an evil dude, your just misguided. Living Hip Hop, I've been involved actively in Hip Hop for at least 12 years, like I mean highly active. I've been a part of many of the elements deeply in Hip Hop and I have taught people Hip Hop. I have a in depth understanding of Hip Hop music also, from mainstream, underground, I am a connoiseur of Hip Hop. Getting distracted doing other shyt but yeah since a kid known and fukked with Hip Hop but been involved in Hip Hop for a long time now. I have an intricate deep understanding of lyricism that is extremely uncommon and rare. I've been part of so many facets of Hip Hop. I have literally put my life on the line for Hip Hop at times, that doesn't make me superior to everyone but it does mean my opinion holds some weight also and equal to anyone. I have had conversations and interactions with many Hip Hop legends and artists and know MANY artists personally. 100's. I;ve witnessed and been a part of nearly all aspects of Hip Hop and the 9 elements. I am experience, am well read in Hip Hop, well researched. I could go on for days, but I am a Hip Hop expert. Many others are too, I respect someone like Kool Moe Dee who is the same even if we don't always agree with eachother.

That's a VERY tiny bit but I'm doing other shyt right now too.

When you say these things and say I'm "misguided" what exactly does that mean ? I'm saying your misguided thinking opinions can't be more valid. It's not about being a Hip Hop fan, it's about BEING Hip Hop, that gives you extra credibility. Do you have an intricate grasp of the techniques of lyricism, flow, delivery etc?. Can you write lyrics?. You can do what you like, your free too, but I don't have to respect your opinion on this, that doesn't mean I can't respect YOU as an individual though. I haven't seen you post anything thus far to suggest you were a credible Hip Hop head, infact to the contray so TBD.

Listen to the last verse, Pac crescendos and speeds up his flow like a saxophone player freestylin' into the end of a song. So like when you hear classical music, the rise and fall of the music is what invokes passion, changing speed patterns, staccattos, elongations, etc, Pac incorporated that sh*t into his music verbally. Kool G Rap hit it on the head, Pac made MUSIC. How many rappers you know 1) pick their beats to match their lyrics 2) pick their beats to match the mood of what they're trying to say. Pac is an artist in every sense of the word. Nowadays rappers try to find a hot beat and do their best to not f*ck up the beat to sell a few records

I don't hate him

I just find it hard to be a fan with his antics, I do hope he drops a classic with his next album.. But I hope that with every great artist. His discography isn't in my personal top 10, but he is one of my all time favorite producers.

Mostly I just find the constant comparison between him and Tupac on here absurd. It's like comparing a freedom fighter to a fashion designer in my mind

I mean you can talk about Kanye's "antics" but they're irrelevant. Pac was a convicted rapist but I wouldn't be able to use that to say Gorgeous is better than All Eyez on Me. Some of the logic you guys have use put people like Eminem as the greatest ever, "objectively".

I think Kanye is on a different planet as an artist but that doesn't actually change anything. Neither does you thinking the opposite.
