Pac was a relic of the past, his music is dusty and outdated and his legacy is mostly built off of image and untimely death. Listening to Tupac in 2014 is the equivalent of riding around with spreewheels rims on a Pontiac

He's the most popular rapper today lol. I'm in my 20's, so incorrect lol.

Just because isn't obviously about poverty or whatever doesn't mean it has no message. Either way they both have a mixed bag when you consider all of Pac's gangster/party songs and Kanye's conscious ones like Roses or We Don't Care.

We're comparing discographies. You can do that with any artists, which ever one has more albums you like wins.

You would be slapped by most rock n roll fans (most probably a lot worse than that) if you compared Linkin Park to Rage Against the Machine. THEY'RE NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE. This is SACRILEGE, I mean I don't see another way to say it. Every other day on a HIPHOP forum I see a thread about how "Pac was effeminate" or "Pac wasn't really street like that" or "Pac wasn't really that conscious" or "Pac wasnt' really that lyrical" etc etc. Would you compare Derek Jeter to Jackie Robinson? Would you compare Shaq to Kareem Abdul Jabbar? Would you compare Bill Clinton to JFK? Would you compare Miguel to Marvin Gaye? Would you compare Peter Wentz to Kurt Cobaine? Would you compare Bill Gates to Mansa Musa? Would you compare Matt Forte to Walter Payton? Would you compare Jesse Jackson to Malcolm X? Floyd Mayweather to Muhammad Ali? I mean, there are some things that just shouldn't be mentioned, real talk. You disrespect yourself by saying such things, because its obvious to any brother in my humble opinion you're either cointelpro or a c00n, I rarely use ad hominems, but only in our culture is such blatant disrespect tolerated because of our respect for freedom of speech. If you went into a biker type real rock 'n roll bar talkin' about Weezer > Metallica they'd crucify you in front of the bar as a warning to anybody else of your kind to never go there.

Kanye's shyt sounds more outdated and it's recent lmao. Pac's music is timeless, that's why he's the most widely picked GOAT.

I give 0 fukks about any of that "code" bullshyt. I consider Kanye superior as an artist based on his work not his public perception. And the reason I wouldn't pick most of those guys is because of the quality. I'm not disrespecting myself by not compromising my opinion lmao.

Sorry fam but the truth is the truth, this forum is mostly older heads so your speaking from a perspective clouded by nostalgia. His music or importance doesnt transcend past your generation. Go on any other forumn where that isnt the case and the consensus is Pacs legacy is overrated and though his music is average, his supposed ability to be accepted as a GOAT is purely from him dying early.

While I agree 100% with the sentiment here (that Pac is vastly superior to Kanye), lettuce not throw EPMD under the bus.
Kanye is nowhere near EPMD in terms of Discography. EPMD had mulitple classic albums and an actual GOAT contender album (Strictly Business) while Kanye has a couple of maybe classics.
Outkast is also vastly superior to Kanye.

Breh, that was a comparison for comparison's sake. If you want me to keep it 100, you can't compare none of these cats to the old school cats. I could see maybe a Kendrick, 50 Cent, Jay Z, like that. Why do you think Dame was so slow to push Kanye to the forefront? Because Dame was from the old school where a rapper had to be THOROUGH. Nikkaz from the 90s would have never truly appreciated a nikka like Kanye because he looked like food, he lacked masculinity, charisma, real talk nikkaz started f*ckin' with Kanye on a strictly producer type steez, they were like rapper? :stopitslime: I'm sorry, I can't f*ck with you skinny jeans #newblack Childish Gambino listenin' nikkaz and your taste in hiphop :scust:

The only jusifcation is that person just got released from a 20 year bid and still catching up with the times
