Yo, I was skiing early in the morning many years ago and practically had the mountain to myself... practically. I'm going down this trail that is downhill, sharp turn, downhill, sharp turn all the way down. I'm zooming towards a sharp turn but notice some guy standing in the middle of the turn, not a good thing to do for obvious reasons. He's kinda crouched over looking down the next hill past the turn so I take the inside of the turn hard and immediately see a kid walking up the hill. He couldn't have been more than 5. All I'm thinking in that split second is I don't want to kill this kid, so I do a homebase slide and dig my skis in and claw at the ground to slow down. I can't see shyt but a giant cloud of ice and snow all up in my face piece. Then I made contact with the kid. I looked up and saw him go head over heels twice in slow motion as I tracked him passing over and behind me.
I got up and ran to the kid and so did the dad. Kid was ok but then dad got big mad and started making threats and saying that he was gonna report me. I explained to him that what he was doing was dangerous and he put himself, his child and me at risk by making his kid walk up a hill around a turn. Then I skied away.
