Like last year You would have to prove that trouts defense and base running is more impactful then Cabreras bat and I don't see it.

This would be a decent argument if Trout was also a ridiculously good hitter as well. Miggy is clearly the best, but Trout is either the 2nd or 3rd best hitter in the league this year.

You gotta remember the mindset of the voters. Can't see them allowing a player on a sub .500 team to win MVP unless there's zero competition.

Miggy's getting it again.

exactly when has the defensive side come into the game stealing bases maybe but i remember Bonds hit 336 40hr 40 stolen bases and was only 4th place in VP voting.

MVP is always about plate production but now you have these math muthafukkas gassed up off moneyball creating stats for Trout to prove his worth.
lets be completely real though, no bullshyt

how many baseball games have you watched this season?

There's been a couple years David Ortiz was the best hitter in the AL but didn't get MVP because he doesn't play defense.

I was going off memory. But looking it up now, in 2006 he finished 3rd in MVP voting behind two guys with lower OPS+

And Travis Hafner, another guy that didn't play defense, lead the league in OPS+ in 2006 & finished 8th in MVP voting

Mike Trout might be the best player ever.

That is all.
