Singing is a talent. Rapping is a skill. Nobody cares who wrote an R&B song as long as its sung well. Writing your own song is a bonus. If you let someone write your own rhymes how much skill do you have?

Hip Hop is more than a genre or format on a radio station.
The reason why True MC's are held in highest regards when it comes to skillset and original content versus being under contractual agreements to submit songs that will sell.
