Straightforward question: who alive today, whether still making music or not, is simply the best rapper based on his merits alone. This excludes criteria like album sales, chart position, etc. (simply because I believe those can be manipulated and say more about the context the rapper is in rather than the actual rapper).

Edit: I'm currently taking an elective course on African Americans in the Media, and as a final presentation I chose to analyze media coverage of rappers and how that skews perceptions of who's good, and who's not. I'll incorporate the results of this poll somehow.

If possible, just a one sentence reply as to why you chose who you did.

It's hard to pick just 1, the highest rapper on my GOAT list at the moment that's alive I think is KRS-One, K-Rino or KRS-One to me.

Interested in the final presentation thing and the topic, is it an oral presentation? Let me know if you want any help or anything.
