Barry was electric and more fun to watch, but Emmitt did the grimy shyt needed to win. Block, catch passes out of the backfield, put his head down on 3rd and short to pick up the first down. Barry would turn a 3rd and 1 into 4th and 7 by always going for the big run. Emmitt>Barry.

Kills me as a Cowboy fan to say Barry was but it is what it is. I still wouldn't traded Emmitt in his prime for any back in the world with his heart and determination. But Barry is the better pure runner though. But it irks me that cats always slight Emmitt cause of who he played for and act like he had an all time great line with multiple Hall of Famers. Nah they just had the first line that averaged 300 pounds and that's what everyone ran with. The only Hof'er is Larry Allen and he was only on one Super Bowl team I believe. LT had a great line in San Diego for a while and no one holds that against him. And Barry had a couple of Pro Bowlers too during his time. Smith is in my top five as running backs forever because he has something most don't. Longevity. At a position where most running back don't even play ten years he had 11 straight 1000 yard plus seasons. Even at the age of the 35 in his retirement year he was close to rushing for a thousand yards.

How dare u compare emmitt to the goat Berry. There isn't an aspect of emmitts game that Berry didn't have better tools at. Emmitt is a product of the greatest generation oline in history. Anybody who has played rb would tell u Barry over Smith

Anyone who thinks the answer is Emmitt Smith is lying to themselves. Emmitt played his whole career behind one of the best Offensive lines, Barry Sanders played behind on of the worst. Pure talent = easily Barry

barry sanders nicca and it aint even close....do u remember emmitt o-line that shyt was impenetrable which is why his slow ass was able to patiently pick the holes he wanted to go thru.....barry sanders on the other hand ran for his life chris johnson style and STILL was destroying defenses even without a good qb or receivers for that qb to take the pressure off him.....
