If we are talking about how big their star shined when they were at their peak it's Nelly... and it's not even fukking close.

Hells he's the reason Forces are the #1 shoe in the hood to this day... hell even peckerwoods was wearing forces after that song came out.

Nelly had little To do with forces being popular. Y’all are exposing yourselves

You think Forces would still be as popular as they are still without that song blowing they popularity up universally? Everyone I know under the age of 50 owns a pair. That's several generations.

Nelly. This shouldn't even be a question and I'm not even looking at record sales. I think people actually underestimate Nelly. Prime Nelly was a superstar among superstars. Talking co-headlining Superbowl halftime shows. The biggest Pop stars getting him on a song or remix. Breh could do a remix with Backstreet Boys and then hop on a remix with State Property and be featured on a song with Jagged Edge.

Yea the thing that really shocked me was dude had like the number 1 album for like 60+ something weeks.

I at first didn’t fukk with him but back then when cd stores had them stations where you can put headphones on and listen to cds.

I say like 40 weeks in at the top….. I finally got curious and listened to Country Grammer and ended up like :leon: :leon: :leon: :leon: :leon: :leon:

And copped.

He came out of no where but Nelly was fukking huge

I remember when nelly dropped country grammar. Hes the ONLY person who can say he stopped eminem in his prime when em was on top of the world with the marshall mathers lp AND eminem show. Thats how big he was. Hell.... he surpassed country grammar with hot in here.. shyt. I was not a fan of nelly to say the least or em at the time either. They were megastars at the time.

Dude is comparing that to Future :mjlol: must be high or something.

In the hood and universally is different. I agree with @CrimsonTider that part. Hood was wearing forces before Nelly and would still be without him. Now the rest of the world is a different story

Eastside of that Motor
Of its nelly he really blew off after hot in here and then followed it up with the country and pop.

But I’ll keep it a bean nelly had a time and era but he never had a moment like the 3 peat mixtape to the ds2 like future did. It was a time. A special time :banderas:

My mom is a hip hop head and was around when it first started going to the dj parties and all that before nikkas even got deals 😒 I respect her opinion
If your mom is a hiphop head she would know more future songs than Nelly songs

It was a bigger at is peak.

Future is dropping #1 records 12 years after his debut. There are only a handful of rappers that have been relevant for as long as Future. He’s had one of the greatest careers in rap history

that’s longevity not peak.

Nelly from 00-04 was monstrous. It was on a similar level to 50 Cent from 02-05/06. Despite it being two entirely different eras, feature has never hit that Nelly peak, but he has had a more the solid very lengthy run.
