I'm talking about guitars in generals (bass, acoustics, electric, etc). What guy do you feel was able to make his instrument create the best grooves and harmonies?
To me my man Eddie Hazel is the goat but Jimi,Prince, and Bootsy are all dope.

Eddie is great, top 10, but we have to take age into account
Jimi at 27 was better than Eddie at 42
Jimi Hendrix is the GOAT. the only dudes close to him were Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, BB King, & Chuck Berry
Jimmy Page, although a plagiarizing devil, gets a pass because technically he's a fukking monster
Someone who's underrated is Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. Their lead guitar parts are, especially on Daydream NAtion
I'm collecting all of their stuff on vinyl too. You're right.. in a way though. Jimi deserves the god spot as the originator .
People sleep on Eddie man.Came in to say this. Ain't no betta! I'm pleasantly surprised to see he was even an option.

@ how he gave his bass that work.REP for having Pharoah Sanders in your avi. He along with dolphy are some Jazz artists I think don't get enough praise.Came in to say Hazel ... all names in this thread are worthy. Jimi IS the goat really.
Newer players like Isaiah Sharkey are excellent (on D'Angelo's band) ... that boy can play

What is this song about? A drug right?
IMO excluding the guy in my avi it's gotta be Jimmy Page
And as much as I can't stand KISS Ace Frehley is up there for me as well
