Gotcha. I innately think like that so I just always assume the pros would know better. You make sense though.

I think what makes it tough is that the play started at the 34 yard line. The defender is thinking to make the tackle if the receiver is maybe the 25 yard line or so, but should not have done it at the nine yard line. I think that's where it becomes an instinct situation where he just went for the tackle.

He’s absolutely a terrible coach. Go look through the ravens thread. Some of us have been calling for him to be fired since before this site was even launched. These type of losses are his specialty.
