Can't you use the same logic and just say Pete inherited the Pats team put together by Parcells?

to some degree. pete had a better winning % there than parcells though. he changed the roster a bit...lost curtis martin to parcells and the jets and had to deal with losing robert edwards to a torn acl. he had terry allen and kevin faulk as his lead backs when he went 8-8 his last year. his defense ranked higher than parcells' with those players too. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nwe/

Pete didn't have final say on personnel decisions on his previous NFL jobs like he does now

Urban Meyer:
2 National Championships
2 SEC championships
Big 10 Championship
Undefeated seasons at both Ohio State and Utah ( still has yet to lose a B1G conference game in three years)
:mjlol: What was the point of posting this? It doesn't compare to Pete's or Nick's resumes. Let's also forget about the fact that this dude ran when he lost his QB and the competition got better in his conference.

So you're saying that you don't think had he stayed at UF they wouldn't be a top 5-10 school? Don't be ridiculous. As far as losing his QB, he would have inherited another spread QB in Driskel had he stayed beyond 2010. Talent and comp wasn't the reason he left, he lost control of the program.

He wouldn't have won another SEC championship

He saw the writing on the wall and bolted, then he saw how easy his path would be at Ohio St and "his health recovered":rudy:

Is this thread solely about college coaches that have coached in the NFL? If so, then I got Jimmy Johnson as the GOAT. Probably Pete, then Saban. Saban is gonna go down as the best college football coach ever though.

Bowden would have that GOAT title for life if only we had more reliable kickers :sadbron:
