I don't think Kevin has a problem with small guys being wrestlers, just small guys being the WHC. And he's got a point. When you think of World Heavyweight and wrestling, you certainly don't think of some guy who is 5'7. :ehh:

But what changed then from when he was facing Shawn for the strap back in the 90s? Unless he thought the same back then but waited till later to say so, coincidentally when Eddy/Chris became champs.

Kevin Nash Says ‏@KevinNashSays

Just got off the phone w/ Scott, trying to figure out how Daniel Bryan is over. Or at least today's version of 'over'. #vanillamidget

If my trip to NXT showed me anything, it's that the business is fukked. A locker room full of #vanillamidgets is all I saw.

What always gets overlooked in this discussion with nash is when "But he wasn't a draw himself!" is thrown out, only his 1 year as a corny babyface is looked at, and not when he drew a huge buyrate in 98, was as over as anyone in the company besides Goldberg, the NWO, him actually doing a good buyrate with HHH in HIAC, etc.

"All eyes on me top ten albums of all time .Just finnished listening to it.2pac. Such an amazing talent, with serious street cred"-Nash is hip hop

Goldberg was the true draw in 98. Nash just played off the NWO which made him seem bigger than he was. As soon as Goldberg took the L at Starrcade for title to him Raw started winning in the ratings.

Raw started winning the ratings in mid 98 when Austin vs McMahon was hot. That whole fingerpoke angle killed Nash as much as Goldberg, he went from #2 babyface rivaling Goldberg to Hogan's sidekick again, midcarding against Rey.

Goldberg was bigger than Nash, but only 2 PPVs in WCW history did what Goldberg vs Nash did (with a drawless undercard). There are few wrestling shows period that did what did domestically and Nash was very over as the head of the Wolfpac.

The point is that while he wasn't Rock/Austin/Hogan, he did legitimately draw money at times in his career, moreso than the guys he criticizes (Jericho, Benoit, Punk, Eddie) when he talks about these things.

Hogan vs Paige did the best buyrate that year IIRC and a few other shows did about the same as Starrcade. And they beat Raw a couple of times that fall.

The only guys that mattered when it came to money in that year was Hogan and Goldberg. The Wolfpac was over as hell and the spin off NWO shirts sold like crazy but that's really it. They needed one of those two to play off of.

Where the hood Where the hood Where the hood at
he said something like midgets shouldnt be winning heavyweight titles and that is what signaled the end of the wwe. Cant remember his name

I believe the person your referring to is Big Sexy Kevin Nash :wow:

I kinda agree with what he said.

I remember being a wrestling fanatic back then and my interest in being a regular viewer ending when these two got the strap. I never saw these two as heavyweight champion material.

Never rediscovered my love for pro-wrestling since then :to:

It shouldnt have happened

@YoungCJ

Benoit was billed taller than he actually was tho ... most people stated that he was like 5'8.

It's common for athletes to be billed a couple inches taller than what they actually are. You see it all the time in pro sports and pro wrestling. Off the top of my head the only athlete I've met who is probably their listed height is Peter John Ramos (scrub player who played for the Washington Wizards).

They need to have a show of Ziggler selling random injuries; paper cuts, stubbing a toe, etc.

Wrestling hasn't followed weight classes for YEARS. The only recent time I remember is WCW's cruiserweight title.
