I'm moving into my own house this week, and I'm gonna need to get wired. Talked to COMCAST, they can wire 1 room with premium channels (sports n shyt, HBO, etc.) plus 105 mb Internet for $110 plus tax.

With that said I want to see what you guys are using, and how much you paying for the service. Im only 24, totally new to home ownership brehs

First off, congrats. Secondly, Comcast is shyt. Most ISPs are terrible but doesn't Comcast cap data?

I have Brighthouse which was TimeWarner and I pay $110 for just cable and phone.

T-Mobile gave me a free modem (cell spot router) so I plan on using that. But what sucks is I work for Comcast but I'm a contractor so I don't get the discounts. shyt sucks I literally do work for Comcast but because I'm not in-house we get NO special rates. Plus I live alone until my girl graduates so I have no help on the bills. Add on to the fact I just bought a 2013 Camaro SS last month and it's safe to say funds are hella tight. Can't really afford this shyt, I wish there were better alternatives

Get FIOS. Comcast sucks. Those speeds aren't consistent and fiber optic is superior.

Yea I've been hearing about fiber optics for years now. Is it too expensive, and do they offer it in Chicago? :lupe:
I have centurylink for my internet... and going to get Dish soon for TV
Saw CenturyLink after doing an Internet search on ISP's, but never heard of it. How's your speeds looking?

Fiber Optic from providers like Google and Verizon haven't reached large urban areas yet. FIOS and Google Fiber are no-shows in Chicago.
Comcast is trying a Fiber Optic solution but it is straight :flabbynsick:. Expensive too.

No cable here. I axed that shyt 4 years ago. I'm an OG cord cutter. As for as internet though. I have Uverse. It's decent. My mom's place has Comcast though and it blows Uverse out of the water speedwise. She pays what I'm paying and I have a 12 megabit connection and she has a 50 megabit connection. SMH.
