No cable here. I axed that shyt 4 years ago. I'm an OG cord cutter. As for as internet though. I have Uverse. It's decent. My mom's place has Comcast though and it blows Uverse out of the water speedwise. She pays what I'm paying and I have a 12 megabit connection and she has a 50 megabit connection. SMH.
So why not get comcast Internet :patrice:

I'm moving into my own house this week, and I'm gonna need to get wired. Talked to COMCAST, they can wire 1 room with premium channels (sports n shyt, HBO, etc.) plus 105 mb Internet for $110 plus tax.

With that said I want to see what you guys are using, and how much you paying for the service. Im only 24, totally new to home ownership brehs

:lupe:
just know thats a contract price and it will increase after the promotional period is over and if you try to cancel early i think there is a termination fee.

I see a lot of misinformation in here :beli:

First off, Comcast NET speeds are golden for me. I don't have FIOS in my area and Comcast is by far the fastest ISP for my money at the moment. And they aren't capping anything in the Chicago area... yet.

With that said... Get your own Modem and Router so you don't have to rent theirs. It'll pay for itself in the long run. And that price is decent for now, but when that promo deal is up it's going to go up a lot. You sure you need cable though? The brehs in here can show you the light.

I already got Starz, Shotime, HBO, Cinemax, and Netflix for free (don't ask me how :wow:) so the only thing I need cable for is NFL & NBA. if the brehs have a remedy for that then :feedme::feedme:

fukking comcast. :scust::scust::scust::scust:

They sent me a notice a week ago about my speeds being upgraded from 50 Mbps to 75 Mbps. On one hand I want to be excited but I have a 300 GB data cap :damn:. Why give me faster speeds but not give me a bigger cap? I download a lot of my games and one game these days can take 30 Gigs easily. 1 hr and 30 mins of netflix HD uses 6 GB on average. I'm constantly getting calls about exceeding my limit and they're charging me now 10 dollars for every 50 GB:demonic:. I had a 60 dollar overage charge last month which made my bill 2 times higher.

Comcast sucks mainly because they muscle out any competition and have a monopoly where I'm at. For example, we have a local ISP that offers comparable speeds offered by the electric company here. However, they are forbidden from laying wire or sharing space with comcast. ATT is here but their speeds and offers are laughable.

I fukking hate comcast. Seriously.

For NBA look into Ballstreams
For the NFL, you will get the local broadcasts with an HD antennae (Fox, CBS, NBC etc)... since you have those premium channels that means you have somebody's log in.

You can use that for WatchESPN as well...

I have that Modem, I can vouch for that one.

I'm also team ASUS when it comes to Routers and that one looks good, what speeds are you paying for? I actually just copped a new Router the other day, just got here in the mail.

I currently have that modem you linked and the ASUS RT-N53 :flabbynsick:

It's the cheapest dual band router I could cop at the time I moved in my crib and it was solid for a while, but I noticed that the 5GHZ signal doesn't always show up, and that my net speeds aren't anywhere close over wifi like they are over wired.

I'm upgrading to the ASUS RT-AC68U... it might be overkill, but shyt, I won't be looking for a router anytime soon if it delivers like my boy tells me it is for him.
