....Mos Def.

He's had an incredible career, but as far as pure hip-hop goes, I think he had the talent to be in GOAT contention.

I wish AZ had more shine too throughout the years.

MOS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I WISH HE WAS MORE CONSISTENT. SOME OF HIS STUFF IS A BIT TOO OUT THERE FOR ME.

this is gonna sound strange but lauryn hill

she was my female nas. i mean, sometimes i wondered if anybody male or female could go bar for bar with l boogie. so she drops a classic where she mostly sings and then disappears. still hurts, the game needed her lyricism
Man she killed every verse on The Score.. Lyrically I'll put her top 10.

I hear you.
I fukk with ALL of Yasiin's music EXCEPT for that last album he put out over a year ago.
I love Black On Both Sides, I like The New Danger, I like True Magic, and I love The Ecstatic.
The New Danger and True Magic got gems on em'. I just think a lot of cats was over his music once he didn't come with another Black On Both Sides.
But Yasiin kept evolving and moving forward with his music to me and kept it interesting. I loved Black Jack Johnson and the quick run they had.
But again, the only project I don't like that he did is the last joint, that Dec 99th. I still can't believe how bad that project was.

Indeed!
shyt, I consider it a classic, honestly. :yeshrug:
I made a thread on it a couple of weeks ago matter a fact.

Am I the only nikka who thinks The Ecstatic is a classic album?

Y'all my people's :blessed::blessed::blessed:
Black On Both Sides is without question a classic, and The Ecstatic is heavily slept on, I mean Workers Comp, History, brehs "I'll give you all the diamonds and money but you can't break my heaaaaaaart....." Also "Fake Bonanza" off of True Magic is another fav. Plus Mos had hella features/collabs on Rawkus Compilations. "Body Rock" with Tash, and Q-Tip, "Oh No" with Nate Dogg and Pharaoh Monche. He had the Bars, charisma, the wit, man just inconsistent output and divided attention SMD :mjcry:

On the production side, I thought DJ Burn One was gonna catch on. I love the tape he did with Mookie Jones - Mack

oh yeah, I'd say Lauryn Hill like somebody mentioned. She may be number 1 on the list.

Blame that on Wyclef and Rohan Marley for busting in those guts and making her raise a goddamn family instead of singing these motherfukking songs.:to::pacspit::mjcry:
