A person whom everything is going good for them and they feel on top of the world or a person at their lowest/ humbled (not necessarily their worst)???

Both

It's like someone in a relationship. In the beginning, when you're still in love, you see that person at their best. Take the same people who've been together for ten more years, they have probably seen the others at their worst. If they stay together for 20 years, then they probably see the "true" person - the balanced version where you see their beauty and flaws.

The other person was the same the whole time; only the viewer's perception changed, but it doesn't negate the truth in what they saw either time.

Always
I would believe both of them equally. I only take advice from people who have something I want.

More so the person on the bottom because in most western societies people at the top of the pyramid aren't trying to put people lower then them on. You can learn from the mistakes of the person at the bottom. But you can really learn from both.

Edit - Matter of fact if you ever listen to lectures by those multi millions they never really drop jewels they tend to speak in cliches just to push their books and products but the person who became a motivational speaker after a incident tend to drop a lot more jewels. But you can learn something from both sides.

Both... you can learn something from everyone. The hard part about listening to someone who is living good is you dont know if they would resume the same mentality & outlook should they hit a downslope just as a person doing bad may have their current mentality because theyve lost hope... who knows how they would be if they were doing good. Look at Tyrese... when he was living good he was extremely positive but now that he's facing some resistance we see who he really is...

Right. You can't really tell if the person is talking or their ego. Same with a person whose lost hope.

Thus, another example showing why putting things in extremes doesn't work.

:francis:

Yet y'all do this every day on here....with hypotheticals. :stopitslime:

Ok. Scenario...

You have a friend who cold approaches women and has a high success rate. He hasn't had a drought in a long time. You have another friend that does not cold approach often, has lengthy droughts where he reaches out to old flings with success but meets new women enough to not lose hope or feel defeated, just not on the level of the first guy. Both give you advice about women in general and approaching and are content with their ways. Whose advice do you favor?

Meaning trust the attitude not the perception?

not necessarily... take ur example... they could be the same dude... but 1 is down... 1 is happy go lucky .. feels like he's luck is about to change... same person can be goin through the same thing.. but there attitude and perception sway there judgment accordingly.
