Why can't they take 3 years or so to make a really good game once every 3 or 4 years instead making the same game every year

it rotates teams so the dev cycle is 2-3 years for each cod

I agree but as long as every year, they breaking sales records of the former, we will always get a yearly.
Plus the upgrade systems would have to be redesigned. If not, after one year it would get boring fast. Think about how dudes rech prestige in 2 days. It would have to be battlefield status..
Anyway, battlefield is better

They do that. 3 different companies and everyone releases a game every 3 years.

Those new sports games modes.
All the cods games doesn't. Have the single player sandbox or something
Hm honestly i feel the cod franchise has been milked dried and needs a lengthy break though but sports games could easily be updated with patches/dlc rather than annually coming out every year.
Fans fall for it same with sports games. Unless there is a significant improvement I skip out on a lot of those kind of annual releases.
Would you stop doing something that was incredibly profitable for you? At this point I'm surprised they haven't pushed the cycle to 2 a year.
I buy NHL every two years. This year's version was the only one I got burned on. They actually took out some features.
