Cole, Gambino, Wale, Big Sean, Drake (initially) would have limited/no lane if not for LB. Hence the Atlantic fail, how can you be sitting on one of the best groups to emerge in a decade and fukk it up, only to have aformentioned all run with the same framework.

I agree. I have put tons of people onto LB, rarely if ever had anyone not vibing. Not like regular ass man rap is a new phenomenon.

Yep, everybody I put on to LB instantly became fans.

How could you be a hip hop fan and not fukk with this shyt here?..

Their downfall was making grown, working man rap music, but being internet famous.

Their target audience was not lurking around internet message boards back in '02.

Same kinda thing Big Krit has struggled with.

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
Don't be sensitive because I pointed out your ignorance. Love him or hate him, Doom is totally unique. Can't say the same for the other acts you named, regardless of how much you might like them.
your stanning is reaching new heights right now bro

mf doom is dope but im not about to hear you slander little brotehr cuz doom wears a mask and samplescartoons the way wu samples kung fu flix and wan front on lil bro

when they both came out they both were seen as some backpacker nerd shyt

acting like i cant put mf doom in the same category as HIS contemporaries is some nerd shyt.

im sure doom would be fine being lumped in with the other UG heroes of the late 90s/00s like can ox, company flow, non phixion, cunnylynguists, , little brother, cage, etc

"doom was unqiue"

no shyt, doom was seen as nerd shyt for a long time. dont let these jay z shoutouts confuse you.

dude with a cartoon mask lmao. the epitomy of backpack nerd rap.. hes still dope but lets not front on his lane he isnt god

From what I've read through all three of them, Atlantic REALLY fukked them over. As in they were promised a certain level of support, and then once the ink was dry they didn't get that support at all. Similar to what happened to Lupe and Saigon. So it wasn't like hey just blindly signed, they were actually courted.
Yup you right.

Atlantic is a terrible label for rappers. They operate like a pop label and simply don't believe in rap shyt. So they have a bunch of artists in development deals churning out pop rap songs, which they then hand to their rap acts and convince them to record the shyt. Lupe has talked about how they'd hand him these glossy pop rap tracks, built in a lab for radio. BoB's debut album was full of shyt like that, and the tracks became hits (but his career didn't take off).

I'm not sure any label could have helped LB win but Atlantic was the worst option. I don't blame LB though, they had no way of knowing.

I think a big problem for them was that they had no notable big name features on the album and instead had these underground ass Justus League features. I loved Chaundons verse on it but honestly the label should've got them a TI verse or Kanye verse. Either would've helped them immensely and the video would've gotten more spins due to that.
