It's harder to bring back 'old school beats' because a lot of those beats were made before sampling laws turned into what they did. We're also in an era where it's hard to find new things to sample because most of the younger generations grew up listening to music that came from samples, so really, are we going to get to the point where we're constantly sampling an already sampled song? Sure, I've already heard it.

The originators grew up in an era where there was music like Earth, Wind and Fire, Delfonics, Blackbyrds, George Clinton, Willie Hutch, etc. to sample and initially, they didn't have to worry as much about sampling laws. They got first choice of material in the richest eras of black music.

so u think sampling house bass n making it into something else is wrong for hip hop?

Ask Craig G, King Sun, or Doug Lazy. Sure, that sound was hot for a quick minute, but it died a swift death 'cause we knew it was just too derivative and watered-down.

New Jack Swing got co-opted by the Corporations and turned into trash which oversaturated the market.

We let house music get a pass because it was rooted in disco/funk which is where nearly all hip-hop breaks/samples came from, but hip-house needed to go away since it lacked an identity of it's own and dikk-rode RnB.

Females not dancing nowhere, in the us.
I wish we had our culture cause erotic dance.
is how socially,...
If, we had our culture connected to our women and if we had our culture.
Or women could and would be actively about the pursuit of us, as black males and respect us.
In America, dance and social party celebration is taboo and was phased out purposefully in the black community by the powers that be.
By making dance gay or a sexual taboo act.
Almost systematically by discoveryzone to now applied logic.
Which is all made from protecting white women's interest because they can not compete with black women on an even playing field.
Plus, can not compete if white men.
Are allowed to buck break our men and rape our women via capitalism.
Which is why it is taboo for us as black people to dance.
Plus, why dancing was made into a protected classicly trained avenue in America.
Where you have to assimilate into gay classicly trained institutions to learn how, to dance now.
All our methods of dance.
have been compromised from breaking to even gay ass house dancing.
To our females being regulated.
as just stripper for moving with rhythm to a beat.
Dance has to eliminated by white people as accessible.
as it drums up the feral rebellious inherent cultural nature.
That is integral in launching an effective attack.
As music is attached to war and culture almost exclusively.
Which is why pop exists in America and America has no prevalent culture.
America has no prevalent culture because it harbors a mass amount of different cultures.
to make a profit off of via capitalism and the cultures of far from first class citizens.
They never want those culture able to delve into the energies it require to take over or even get the vibe to think about a takeover.

Art Barr

Any culture that is black allowed to have dance.
Or rebels and creates underground culturally based social setting to engage in dance.
Is a culture that is completely healthy for you as a black person.

This post will go unnoticed, but is the mufukkin' TROOF.

Crazy thing is we actually watched it happen on Soul Train.

They used to have males and females coming down the line together, then, in the mid/late-80's, they were separated into their own lines.

Symbolic and demonstrative of the dissolution of the relationship between 'Black' men and women orchestrated by 'White people' via the media.

I am from Chicago and if you never fought the real war between house and hip hop for real.
Then you can not say shyt to me about house being of any great anything to us as black people.
House is fukking gay disco music.
To the point the word house has been far removed from going to the wherehouse.
Of which I know you probably were never there for ever.
Let alone actually fought for to have real culture in hip hop.
You got hip hop nationally cause reg know and Dem dare and every Chicago real bboy fought so you could get culture.

So, spare me your sellout fascination with disco and house.
Which are the direct feral enemies of hip hop as a culture, period.
We are completely juxtaposed and ain't no ducks in hip hop.

Anybody trying to parade a duck around, and in a cultural sense.
No real bboy is going to allow.
As house/disco/edm is gay and has no culture.

Art Barr

Fought at the country club and wherehouse at ten underage.
So spare me all that house shyt.
fukk house.
Ain't no house motherfukker after 93-96
Supposed to be anywhere near hip hop and if you really a bboy.
Your first order of duty is clearly keeping that line drawn in the sand.
Then splitting any ducks' grill open.
stoopid enough to try to infiltrate.
Stop letting fukk'n house ducks be in hip hop.
They do not fukk'n belong at all, period.

I respect you but you need to fall back on your hate for house. That's our cousin. You and I both know that the perculator got the party started from 1990-1999

Damn fam

I always thought house was indigenous to chi town and Detroit

I always considered it black music

Can u please elaborate on why u feel there's a rift between house and hip hop?

This is all new to me.

House music is black music. Art is good people's but don't let him tell you otherwise on this one. I'm 33, black, from Baltimore, dj'ed for a summer at a smallish spot in bmore, and lived in Philly as well for two years. House music got play in the clubs during my teen years and early 20s.
