The average car doesn't cost 40k+

I just feel like people are getting taken for a ride.
Small luxury cars are never value cars breh. If you want bang for the buck, buy an American performance car. But I don't see you doing that. :mjpls:

I'm thinking of either getting this or a 2002+ 996 (my favorite porsche other than the 993:yeshrug:)

But having come from a Z I have absolutely zero interest in a 4-cylinder:gag:

But the 435i pushes up the price point I was already stretching.

@88m3 opinion on the two?

Doubt it. IS had a short run as it was, but you never know. Nothing announced. Maybe they'll do another mid-model refresh. Remember the IS was released like 4 years after the initial 335.

eh, I kinda wished they'd keep the IS line, but I understand it was DAMN expensive for what you they were offering, so they had to let it go.

I read on forums that n54 plus DCT was :banderas: though.

Maximas come with 6 standard.

Why is BMW giving me a 4 cylinder. The E93/E92 was heavy as hell, and I doubt this is any different.

Why even change the whole line up to a 4 series and put in a weak ass 2.0

If anything this makes it obvious they're using the 4 series to bolster their 6 series.

My friend has a 996 Turbo they're nice cars and solidly built, the interiors are pretty dated though(especially if it's not a black interior :wow) You can add a new head unit and GT2/GT3/ Recaro seats but it all adds up. If you buy one off one of the Porsche forums that has been well taken care of and updated it's a good bang for the buck.

I'm not sure if I would dd a 996 GT3, they're not easy to come across either and they're much more expensive than the turbos as well.

Just keep in mind wear and tear stuff like rotors, suspension, tires, etc are a more expensive than most cars. Always expect to spend 1-4k.

The payment on a 435 and a Turbo say 50k+ range is going to cost you 400-600 a month depending on your down payment.

The BMW will have a warranty.
The Porsche is out of pocket but in theory you'll buy a well taken care of one so you wont have issues.

For me it would depend on how much I drive.

Sweet car. Buddy who worked for BMW brought a white IS to my house as he took it for the weekend. This was right when it released. When the overboost kicked in for the first time/coupled with that exhaust burble... incredible.

I intend on having a black interior. But idc if it looks dated, im not looking to look new, im looking for more of a classic look. Ida got a 993 if it wasnt 60k+

Not GT3 most likely the Carrera, I feel like the Carrera has a classier more classic porsche look than the bulk they added by the kit they put on the turbos/gt3s

This will be a daily in NYC.

Thinking smart obviously the new under warranty BMW would be a smarter choice. But its a BMW. verses a Porsche...

Its a risk id be willing to take. If I do go porsche i tend on getting a full PPI and replacing the problematic IMS bearing if not done already. Other than that 996 reliability as a DD is considered stellar:manny:

But besides all that I want to experience the Porsche driving experience everyone raves about:ohlawd: plus my trunk in the front:smugbiden:

idk man:manny:

What of what I said is off?

edit:
even worse its a 2.0:laff:

I think he means because the 4 cylinder in BMWs isn't even new. It started with the 328i's. Not only that but as many people know here BMW is notorious for downplaying the power of their motors. They'll rate a motor at basically whatever number suits them (sometimes they state that those numbers are in worst case scenario conditions)

Point being that you're saying they're doing something wrong when they aren't. This 2.0 Turbo puts out more than its N52 predecessor. Combine that with the gas mileage increase, and this is a win for them.
The motor that you're complaining about is in the base model its like complaining about performance numbers of a C250. The people that buy those cars won't notice because they didn't buy them for horsepower.

The real car can be found in the 435i, thats where you'll see guys adding meth kits, tunes, and exhaust components, and other peripherals.

Even with that said this is a car that replaces the e92, its not made to make the 6 look better or worse.

The 215
A5/S5 still killing it and I got a feeling the RC F is gonna be a beast in person. BMW aint fooling no one by chopping the roof slightly on a 3 Series coupe and shoving the same old interior in there. Front bumper is ass and those side "vents" look like some Pep Boys shyt.
shyt truth be told they ain't worried about you they worried about the masses and from what Ive saw IRL you talking that bullshyt. Your entitled to it but people seem to like it

You're right i know the I4 existed.

Guess I just expected more from them, being that they annexed the legendary 3 and upped it to a whole new platform on the 4, I was expecting a more imposing identity like i6 standard. But these are minor improvements over the previous years like they've always done.

They have the 1-series now so I'm not buying that baseline comparison. Agree or not I find a 2.0 i4 in that vehicle rediculous. The 435 isn't even all that impressive.

Or maybe I'm just mad at what they're giving me at my price point:heh:
