I am constantly amazed by how much hate this album gets on the Coli... I thought it was excellent. In fact, it's one of my top 3 albums of 2015. It featured:

Kendrick ripping tracks apart
Game beasting
A revitalized Snoop
Anderson.Paak killing it
Great production

I'm just curious what people weren't feeling about it. Was it because it didn't live up to Chronic & 2001? Was it because it didn't sound like a Future/Young Thug/Fetty Wap album? Enlighten me brehs!

The beats werent what we were expecting from dre. This is the man that gave us nuthin but a g thang and still dre in his first two albums. I know this isnt a dr dre solo album but i had much higher expectations. The only songs that still get play from me are just another day with game and talking to my diary

Album is good BUT maybe only 2 songs sounds like it could have been inspired by the movie. Alot of it sounds like Dre was experimenting vocally and musically, which is cool if you're putting out music constantly. But to take all these years off and not give the fans at least a nice chuck of what they expect, it comes off wack. Most Dr. Dre fans are over 25 , so they don't really care about the "new sounds" it tried to capture. They want Dre. G-Funk, crisp drums, smooth melodies, ESPECIALLY since it was supposed to be inspired by Straight Outta Compton. I actually expected more west coast / so Cal cats . All those random out of town guests on there kinda rubbed me the wrong way.
