:mjtf: I’m saying breh, just pull yourself up by the bootstraps.

Or u can bytch , moan and complain about work conditions being poor while ignoring P Diddy poking his chest out with honor about how he worked for free for years while interning at Uptown Records only to later become a near billionaire 2 decades later.

There’s too many rags to riches stories about beating the odds for what op is talking about to be a real issue of concern.

The hidden message behind the 80s version of Scarface is that if someone can migrate to N America, start off washing dishes, only later to become rich , then you as a citizen born in this country have no excuse.

Okay, but he turned to a life of crime, and took out the boss, and became a drug lord. It’s not like he created a legit company or product.

But there is no moral base when talking capitalism. The Kennedys came up bootlegging alcohol which was similar to selling dope back in the day. Yet the Kennedys are on a high pedistool in American culture. And op was talking about poor work conditions. Tony said at the camp “you work 8 , 10 fukking hours. You own nothing, you got nothing.”

You’re really trying to apply someone creating something organic that can make them rich in communist Cuba? Tony wasn’t going to get rich complaining about Cuba’s politics while being stagnant.

Think the outliers make up the majority. Most poorer people work harder and more hours than rich. So what are you really saying?

I feel it’s important to apply yourself as best you can, but thinking a fraction of people are going to get a diddy come up :snoop:

So are you suggesting a life a crime? All your examples are ridiculous .

I can’t relate to anything u are saying. Poor conditions are supposed to be temporary not permanent. If u been working for 10 years with the same shytty pay that’s on you. Poor conditions are supposed to make u say “this is temporary, I’m gonna step my shyt up to get out of these poor conditions.” I did it, Scarface did it, P Diddy did it, and countless others.

I’m not saying being rich should be a persons goal. I’m saying poor work conditions should be looked at as temporary pit stops.

You earn benefits, you arent entitled to them.

If the only thing you can do is physical labor, well you are easily replaceable, you wont command a high salary or benefits.

Every example I used was based on relatable experiences, that’s why I used them. But I got u. I was homeless as a teen in the mid 90s vowed to never be homeless again, worked towards that goal and i bought my first home in 2014 almost 2 decades later. One thing u won’t hear me crying or bytching about was the poor conditions surrounding any jobs in between me finally getting were I needed to be.

I worked with a guy with a similar story to u. Needless to say he was homeless and on his own, now he looks down on the homeless cause hes not.

Well I work with homeless vets for a living so this guys story isn’t similar to mine at all. When they come to me with lies trying to get metrocards out of me or meal tickets for free lunch I usually give it to them even tho I’m held accountable.
