Why are Americans so in love with guns?

I'm a gun owner and member of the African American gun owner association and nra
I love guns + I live in city where criminals and drugs are deep....
I don't know if u nikkas or white people live in suburbs where police will be at your house in 2 minutes, well life in crazy hoods of los Angeles is different
U have brothers and sisters like myself who worked 9 to 5 jobs and then u come home to areas where gang bangers and drug dealers are roaming the streets and a lot of times dudes are running up in people houses robbing and shooting them and u think the cops will show up in 2 minutes? Motherfukkers sometimes want u to go down to the station and filled out a report
I rather have my gun to protect myself then be rob...
We still have innocent mistakenly shot just sitting in their car or pumping gas at a gas station...

I just don't understand this "protect myself" culture. shyt makes zero sense to me. First of all, most of the people who own multiple firearms have never been in a situation that's extreme enough to need a handgun in order to be safe. In fact, I think it works the other way around in most cases. Usually, when someone with a gun gets into the type of confrontation where they would normally just walk away if they were unarmed, they escalate it because they now feel like they can intimidate the other party. People swear that making guns illegal would not reduce gun crime. They combat this with saying shyt like: "Drugs are illegal, but people still do them." Yeah, no shyt. People are chemically addicted to drugs, so whether or not the shyt is legal really makes no difference. If there is a strong demand then there will also be a supply. Suggesting that it would be the same exact thing with guns is fukking ridiculous, though. Look at New York, for instance, a state that is now notorious for its strict firearm laws. Is it not the safest big city in America? I've honestly never met a single person with a legally owned gun that has actually been robbed, assaulted, or was in any serious danger at any point in his life. Most of these people who claim that they need to protect themselves with guns don't even live in the type of neighborhoods where that shyt would make any sense. Lol at living in the suburbs and needing a fukking arsenal in your closet. Also, there are those who are stupid enough to think that guns will protect them against cops or the government.How Sway? You open fire on a cop and you might as well shoot yourself in the head right after.

You're statistically more likely to kill yourself with a gun than someone capping you. Plus having a gun is false protection, if someone really wants to cap you they will. Just ask that American Sniper dude.

As far as joining organizations, spending way too much money on that shyt, going out hunting every weekend giving your guns names like dude said lol... the obsession with it? Yeah that's cac culture, but just owning a gun? Nah everybody likes guns, you can't even say it's American culture this is worldwide.
And not having one just lowers the chance of survival even more. The 40 I carry daily has a switch safety, an safety indicator on the back when one is in the head, a trigger safety to prevent misfire, and a key safety if I wanted to do that. If you shoot yourself then you did something wrongNever owned a gun, never will.

Why black people are so anti gun of all people does not make sense to me, so many cacs I work with are arm to the teeth, nikkas would be a fool not to strap uo. Another thing is once you strap up make sure to go to the gun range and practice your aim.

I would argue that if someone is robbing you or breaking into your house, having a gun would only make the situation worse and increase the chances of them shooting/killing you. All those fukkers want is your stuff. Call the police and let them handle it.
