I just wanted to know why so many black men are becoming atheist, or following new ageism. I know God is real and the Bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I just want to know why black men are leaving God and worship.

Yo yo yo...for real though..I don't even understand why black folks are so religious. And so loyal to god.
Black people have been getting shafted by everyone and everything even in the midst of praying all day and going to church and reading the bible. Lowest rate of business ownership, Highest rate of incarceration, highest rate of unployment, getting killed by racist cops who get off and get donations funds set up in their honor, under the thumb of centuries of white oppression, have had everything and almost anything taken from them. It's pretty obvious if there is a god he hates us...yet we pray to him all day long...we are so lost as a people!

I think Talib Kweli said it best on the song respiration "Hard to be a spiritual being when shyt is shakin what you believe in" ...like its hard to have faith when your watching your people be literally oppressed and targeted ...and goodness forbid you live in the hood..seeing your people get shot and struggle day to day...coould cause any man to have their faith shaken...people always bring up the biblical story of Job about how God tried him over and over to test his faith...but eventaully it ended..I think black people need our struggle to end...I mean how long can a people be tested for before they start to question that the almighty really cares about them...

Christianity is what helped us get through slavery and receive our civil rights. Martin Luther King Jr was a devot christian and Malcolm X believed in god. Believing in God is what pushed these men to fight for our civil rights.
Religion and God is always on our side.

even with all of this we still have the lowest suicide rates in the country, so God has given us some sanity. You can not blame god for the devils doing. The devil is the ruler of the earth. You die on earth but your soul lives forever.
