I really don't see how anyone can call themselves a so called fan of hip hop but then go around and act like its blasphemy to compare 2pac to a nikka like Elvis and The Beatles(music wise). Like really breh yall ride for white people that hard :what:

Not only that but what makes movies like The Godfather better than a movie like Boyz N The Hood or Menace To Society?
What makes boardwark empire or any other white "classic" better than a mini series like 'The Corner'? Because white people say so :comeon:
Yall nikkas kill me with this shytt.

2pac>>Elvis
Wu Tang, NWA, Geto Boyz>>>The Beatles

BITH, Menace To Society>>>The Godfather

These are just facts breh :manny:

I agree to a certain extent, except for The Godfather. That's my shyt right there.

- I always give black shyt props but you mention nothing but hood shyt. mix it up breh. Like throw "The Great Debaters" or "Malcolm X" up against a white classic. and truthfully if something from the entertainment or art world is hot its HOT. I can't front on race with that shyt

Hip Hop is the best genre of music, F the Beatles, Elvis, and the rest of that crap. There's some rock I can listen to, but atleast 90% of my iPod is Rap. I just wish Black movies/Tv shows were on the level of our music :snoop:

Is supposedly better than this

You can say there different genres but Rolling Stone and them doesn't give a fukk when they make their top 100 list and always stick the beatles and bob dylan in the front. Stevie Wonder pisses on all of them

Honestly, if we're speaking STRICTLY talent-wise (negating impact)

Alicia Keyes >>>Bob Dylan

Boyz II Men>>The Beatles

And I'm waiting for someone to argue with me about that shyt.

The Beatles just inspired a movement and came out at exactly the right time, but they shouldn't even be compared to greats like Michael Jackson or Stevie Wonder. And yes, this is coming from someone who has listened to a lot of their shyt

see... I'm gonna really look like i'm riding white, you're bringing up poor examples.... but Boyz II Men are more talented than The Beatles? seriously? Boyz II Men sing... they do it well but that's all they do... all their known for. The Beatles go into a studio and do it on every instrument... which... is more than just singing. Member by member it's not even a contest.

Alicia Keys is a classically trained pianist as well as a singer... but Bob Dylan is an amazing songwriter and a proficient multi instrumentalist as well.

I'm not gonna go any further though... not sure if a healthy discussion can be had here.

This right here. Better comparison would be the Beatles versus Prince. Even on that level, Prince is my boy--my all-time favorite artist--but the Beatles influenced the way he dressed and an entire freaking album he did in '85.

Bob Dylan on the other hand I can't stand. Good lyrics but his shytty vocals make his songs unlistenable.

Can't say I agree with Elvis over Tupac either. I'm not a big Elvis fan. I think his music was mostly derivative--black music performed by a white face. However, his overall cultural impact is greater than Tupac's simply because he was one of the first white artists to bring black music into the mainstream. The Beatles too to a lesser extent. Their earlier hits were covers of old black rock 'n' roll and blues hits forgotten by white kids in the 60s and re-popularized for them.

I don't think the Godfather and Boyz in the Hood are comparable--genres are way different--but I would take Malcolm X over Patton or any over biopic about a CAC.
