I dont think they tell us the real percent of blacks in the U.S. and never will. Why would they let us know were the majority etc.. Its strength in numbers. I feel we make up waaay more than just 15% of the population. Whites dont make babies as much as us. And if it wasnt for abortions we would definitely be the majority right now

Houston culturally is majority AA/black despite them being the minority(%23) demographic

First music scene- Blues

Oldest park- Emancipation Park(oldest in TX as well)

Most popular music scene- Hip Hop

Signature music style
- Chopped and Screwed

Signature car culture- Slabs

Signature college sporting event- Labour Day Classic

Signature narcotic- Drank

Signature BBQ style- (South)East TX, which is firmly rooted in AA traditions

3 of the 10 most popular nicknames, including the #1 most popular nickname for the city(H town) were coined by the urban AA community.
Best of Houston: 10 Best Nicknames for Houston

H-town is even more popular on the ground and in media than the officially recognized nicknames like Space city and Bayou city.

The city would have almost zero identity without us.

Like what I mean is, a city/neighborhood could probably be 25% blacc, but people who been there think its majority black. Blacks, whites, asians etc.. all would feel that way.

On the contray, no area that is only 25% white will have people feeling like white people are the majority, same goes for hispanics
Because we’re (AAs) more extroverted on average

Boston MA might be the only place where black people's cultural footprint/presence is disproportionately low compared to their population size.

Most people think of it as an irish town.

Because black immigrants up there tend to keep a low profile not wanting to attract a lot of attention to themselves. Boston almost feels European or Canadian to me

yall still believe that 13% myth?

its more like 20%

Anyone who’s driven around the country knows these remarks are bullshyt. This country is so white it’s ridiculous. Whites have a presence in 90-95 pct of countys in America. Meanwhile there are large swathes of America where black people are like aliens. I’m talking places 45 minutes away from major cities let alone the boondocks

ITS BECAUSE TOURIST CITIES USUALLY HAVE OUR LARGER BLACK POPULATIONS. GO TO TOURIST ATTRACTIONS OUTSIDE OF THE CITY AND YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE.

NEXT TIME YOU FEEL LIKE WE HAVE AN OVERWHELMING PRESENCE GET IN A CAR AND DRIVE 1HR IN ANY DIRECTION AND TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE.

:mjpls: Black people tend to congregate more than others. :mjpls: Also while civil, our conversations can give off the illusion of conflict, to others not use to our ways.

Folks probably on your head about this, but this is real shyt. I went to a small PWI in the country and if you sat outside you would think that shyt was an HBCU. lol
