I didn't realize so many of you had a problem with Jay kickin knowledge until I read some of this thread:

STORY OF OJ = SELLOUT shyt

Why do y'all not understand that Jay is a human like everybody else and grows and matures through life like everybody else?

I've seen multiple people say "well why wasn't he rapping like this 20 years ago when he was 25....he knew better."

Really???:what: says who??:what:

Most of YALL wasn't "woke" even 3 years ago and y'all trying to use him not being at a certain level of consciousness 20 years ago against him.

Most of y'all still bumpin black genocide music but yet got a problem with Jay sprinkling financial advice in his music.

If you don't like Jay fine but don't use his past songs like "money, cash, h0es" against him. Everybody grows. Everybody matures.....hopefully.

Its kinda like when idiots use David Banners song Like A Pimp from 15 years ago against him now. Like, who cares???:what:

Dude has grown as a man and is now speaking on a lot of issues that has to be spoke on.

Every single person on earth is a hypocrite to some degree. We all change. We all grow. Our mindsets evolve. Things we were into in the past (money, cash, h0es) we no longer find appealing.

Malcolm X was a drug-dealing pimp at one point, I guess the Coli wouldn't fukk with him either if he was a present-day activist.

Nobody knows what's in Jays heart when he spit those lines but I find it ridiculous to say he's being fake or disenginous. What, do y'all want him still rapping about money, cash h0es as a damn near 50 year old married man?:jbhmm:

This site skews things. In general, people really hate Jay Z on this site. It doesn't make a lot of sense. I chalk it up to silly ass Nas fans who can't appreciate both, so they play these silly little stan war games, and a lot of people on this sit not actually being black. It's a lot of young people on this site too, with no mind of their own and will follow whatever the popular opinion is. So, in general, black people are not mad at Jay Z for kicking knowledge. A lot of Coli poster seem mad about it. But half the post on here are for daps.

As far as the thread in the OP. That's an Art Barr thread my guy, come on. Art my Chitown brethren, but if you know his history, you know that he will get outlandish with it sometimes. I see where he coming from most of the time, even if I don't agree with him. As far as Jay Z, Art has never said anything positive about him, going back to SOHH, He's a consistent Jay hater.

I agree, everyone who has dropped any kind of knowledge is technically being hypocritical. Humans are walking contradictions. And everyone knows it easier to give advice than it is to take your own. People just act willfully stupid for the sake of whatever their agenda is.

Haven't heard the new album but that's what I like about Jay, the progression. I wasn't listening to him in high school circa hard knock life, but hearing the subject matter evolve is what drew me in latter on and I went back through his whole catalog..I don't een how the fukk these dudes survive rapn about the same ol shyt over 5, 10 years? :why:

Like you still talking about street level hustling/crime for a decade? That shyt ain't even believable.

Edit- One thing I'll add is sometimes you gotta do what you have to do, in order to do what you wanna do. When I first heard I Can't Get With That (much much later when I started fukking with JayZ), I was like why did he switch it up? But dumbing it down early on, and adopting that style probably the only way to get on and remain relevant (and more importantly sell to cacs) in that fukkin industry, now he can do/say what he want. I don't see no one coming out with no smart shyt early on or they're pigeonholed into a "conscious" rapper, and that shyt aint pushed aint selling .

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
at what point does a man (or women) have the right to change for the better?

AInt nothing wrong with changing. But he's 47 years old critiquing artists in their 20's. I could see if he was 27 or even 30. You can't switch up this late in the game and expect people to take you seriously.
