The church's skewed ideas of repentance for anything along with a temporary feeling of purpose seems to be some factors.

If I had a dollar for every self-proclaimed christian brehette that did "un-christian" things, i'd have 50+ dollars

Black folk as a whole in America have typically been religious and conservative because of the history.

Younger generations are sort of moving away from the conservatism but the religion is a bit of a bug that's dug a little too deeply.

Funnily enough when black men who don't necessarily consider themselves to be conservative or religious come into contact with a black woman who truly isn't either of those things, it tends to scare them.

Spiritual and religious are 2 different things. Nothing wrong with spirituality but overly religious folks are especially Christians

If I thought this thread would be a mature conversation I would add my thoughts on it as a black woman who still have her faith although so many things have happen recently to weaken it.
