It seems as if we take great pride in perpetuating our own stereotypes. I look in the media and am amazed at what the heads of these media outlets get a away with. What is even more disturbing is the fact that there never seems to be a shortage of negroes who'll degrade themselves and their people on the world stage. The real question is why do we tolerate this? When did we accept what we see in media as just mere entertainment?
Yes, because generally speaking black people (1) have a group think mentality and (2) individuals don't know (or care) how the actions of the few affect the whole.
What many individual black people (entertainers and reality tv 'stars') do not realize is that they are paid a nominal amount for stereotypical imagery that will last for generations. But black people generally don't care as long as they are getting theirs.
Asians are the absolute MASTERS at protecting their image in the media. You will rarely if ever see Asians on Maury Povich, Judge Mathis, Real Housewives of ______, or any other reality tv show. They understand the importance of maintaining the "image" of the model minority and ALL ASIANS are on the same page. They would NEVER sell out the image of the group for a small financial gain.
But we just don't "get it".
