Why are coffins so heavy?

I was asked to help carry one. I was like "light work" (never did it before), but I was telling myself it's just a wood box with someone of regular size in it.

When we carried it, I was like that shyt heavy!

I cut down a tree on Monday around 11pm, and when I tried to pick it up to toss it in my neighbors backyard, I realized that shyt was extremely heavy.

Had to cut into 6 parts just to toss it in across the fence
