the middle class can't afford quality education, healthcare, or necessarily have food security so I would say it's the majority of children.

If the middle class can't afford quality education, healthcare, food security or any other basic necessities, then they are only living the illusion of being "middle class"

I would need to see statistic on charter and private schools.

And not all public schools are "bad"

Of course. I don't believe a middle class has truly existed since perhaps the 90's early 2000's prior to the crash. In the early 2000's they mostly survived on credit even at the time what was considered upper middle class especially in the north east. When the UMC lost all of the equity in their homes, jobs in some cases, foreclosures, bankruptcies, etc, that all came crashing to a halt. In this day and age to see yourself as middle class it is beyond being naive.

Private school ain't cheap, boarding school ain't cheap at least the ones that matter. Even things like Catholic school I wouldn't consider to be cheap unless you're getting discounted tuition which many do. My understanding of charter schools in NYC at least is that the parents aren't the ones paying. Most people who attend charter schools are underprivileged.

So much truth in that statement.

The conservatives' ultimate goal is making education available only to those who can afford it (wink, wink, nudge) :mjpls:
That applies to all other public sector areas too, except military/police
