Why are cousins treated like distant relatives in white families?

Most of my family did whatever they had to do to 'make it' being black from 1890 to 1970

by the 70s they 'made it' I honestly feel like they lost they souls in the process

Most of them see love/emotion as weakness just cold as hell for no reason

My parents happened to be loving and warm people...we always been the black sheep for not being on some demonic shyt its sad

Kinda makes me sad I lost touch with some of my cousins. Mostly due to being pulled in other directions. When I see them we are super close now.

I usually go home 2 - 3 times a year. With covid straining things it's harder to see them.

I give some of my younger cousins money to help them out though even though we haven't been talking as much.

In my culture our cousins children are our nieces and nephews there is nothing called first removed twice removed cousins

our parents cousins are our aunties and uncles

Similar in mine my I've got about 30 first cousins and the olders ones who where raised under Uncle all refer to each as brothers and sisters.

yall got some good families cuz all of my cousins live in different states and were either much older or younger than me. My NY family never calls lol and my GA family are fukkin lunatics (according to my grandma) so I've never met them. The only cousins that I were good friends with are now doing their own shyt or raising kids, while I post on the Coli.

After my great grandmother passed our family ties went to shyt. She had six daughters and after she passed everything went downhill due to these women not getting along and couldn’t be on the same page when it came to who was getting what after my great grandmother passed smh.
