Eh, one of the major differences is instruments/ the effort it takes to craft a hip hop song vs another genre.
For instance, I doubt someone would have the same intonation if you compare hip hop and something like edm/dub step (even though the former sucks anyway)
Plus hh suffers from a major lack of diversity in topic range, and is more trendy than it needs to be. But it still has plenty of time to see if it will hold up/evolve like older genres

imo effort shouldn't matter cause that's like saying a band like Dream Theater automatically makes better music than a band like Nirvana just because it takes more effort.
