Why are hockey fights different than NBA fights?

Fighting is allowed in hockey because in the past, especially before the 2004-2005 lockout in NHL, because pests(players who got under the skin of other players, especially stars) frequently tried to injure and make their life hard, especially in the playoffs. Wrong. A lot of people care about hockey. Hockey and soccer are two of the world's biggest sports. Hockey fights are the main attraction in hockey. Because they're white people nobody gives a fukk when they jump each other.

It's the same reason why the narrative changes when the media describes a "tough, hard-nosed" hockey player vs a "violent, thug" basketball player.

they are also on skates, can't do as much damage trying to fight throw punches while on skates. If someone got seriously hurt in a hockey fight then fighting in that sport would end.

There used to be fighting in the NBA and not much was made of it, I remember when Sedale Threatt from the 76ers punched Danny Ainge and wobbled him, and everyone laughed. Ditto for the Robert Parish beatdown of Bill Laimbeer. When Julius Erving attempted to "fight" Larry Bird by swinging at him with an open hand, while Moses Malone had him in a headlock. That was some funny stuff.

It's a coach that used to play basketball and was involved in a serious fight back in the 70s. Cac got hit so hard by a black player that he was tasting brain fluid. I think since then they started paying more attention to fights and controlling the powder keg of black punching power

Cacs fight every night in hockey but it isn't highlighted the way NBA fights are in the news. Why is that? If you think about it these cacs in hockey skating around carrying weapons and are left alone to pound each other out. In the NBA the moment you swing on a nikka they escalate it to the point of assault and police is involved

1. Malice at the Palace. Fighting was a lot more prevalent in the NBA but this was a HUGE turning point.

2. Hockey is nowhere near as popular as basketball in America. Less limelight, less shine. And NBA injuries kill ratings, this is proven.

3. Hockey players are seen as white trash, illiterate thugs, even by white people. It would take alot of "good looking" articulate high skill players to change this narrative (just look at how the common QB stereotypes have changed the NFL). Basically, there's no Tom Brady in Hockey that they are making rules for to keep him healthy.


Honestly i'm confused at the point you're making here. I really don't see anything about this.

Think about it. If white people were cheering watching black people beat the shyt out of each other with weapons while the predominantly white sports gets police escorts and security, how would you feel about that

Neanderthal hockey players dont get paid enough to give a damn about whether or not they live or die. They can jump on one anothers faces with ice skates and it wouldnt be anything more then a Worldstar moment.

If it isnt wayne gretsky name one hockey player the entire nation would be sad to lose or even know by name.

Black violence is a highlight because white americans enjoy violent black people on their television. It helps them feel like everything is normal.
