Good answerWomen dominating HR, admin assistants and nursing is an artifact of patriarchy
As time goes on and we see women increasingly get more access to other higher positions we will see more diversity in those positions that were once traditionally held by women. We already seeing this with nursing, the other two lag behind because of pay most likely
Women and gay dudes gravitate to HR because it let's them know everybody's personal business. It's like being a professional gossip.
They know what you make, where you live, how many kids you have, which employees are fukkin, who has a weed card, who got arrested last weekend, they know if alimony/garnishments/ child support is coming from your check....and they get paid to sit around and talk about it.

So basically what the posters above have said, you nosy fakkit.I work in HR because I like the investigate part of it, but also because I actually give a damn about people.
Same with executive assistants. This position is a cheat code to climb the ladder in many companies and it’s mostly women who occupy them
I dont like the investigation part because I get to know everyone business. I like the employee relations investigations. Interviewing people, witnesses, getting facts and putting together the truth and whatever disciplinary action may happen as a result. People lie like they in a first 48 homicide room.So basically what the posters above have says , you nosy fakkit.
And oh name checks out
The other responses in this thread make me think the majority of people here don’t really know what HR does.HR got nothing to do with bedside manner. And for anyone who ends up interacting with them just know...they aren't on your side. They're on the side of the corporation. Doesn't make them bad people, but you have to keep that in mind or else you can get railroaded fast.
