The answer is simple. White supremecy is winning and the system is working as intended. As a whole blacks are losing ground economically, socially,and politically. I dont see any urgency or movement to stop the decline...

There are a lot of distractions, and as it has already been mentioned a lot of of think things are ok. Another thing is break down in the family. I learned to about black issues and black history either through my parents or they put me in things that taught me. How many parents are talking to there kids about this? Especially if they think everything is better. Also, our oppression and flaws* is being glorified by the media.

They control the media by music, radio, news, tv shows, movies, and others.

And since race isn't thrown in your face as much as it is before you can go through a significant portion of your life without thinking about it unlike the people who seem to think about race 24/7.

Anyways to answer the question.... Basically time is the reason why. People aren't as racist as they used to be so people tend to not teach their kids the hardships that they went through while being black.
