Why are most modern remakes of movies so bad?

Hollywood doesn't put creativity in most remakes because they already have a fanbase, so it's a quick cash grab playing on people's Nostalgia, there's no creativity put it modern remakes anymore

off the top of my head that I can think of are Godzilla Minus 1, which shares similarities to the OG Godzilla King of the Monsters, and I like the recent remake a couple years back of Godzilla v Kong, I liked that more than the OG one too

that's all I can think of right now

Modern movies are meant to be time wasters on streaming sites. The movie companies understand people want to be distracted more than entertained.

another thing too, just like the music you listen too is the soundtrack of your life, Hollywood needs to come up with new ideas and start new franchises instead of piggybacking off the old one, although I did like the way they connected the Rocky/Creed franchise

But movie fans deserve more original movies and creativity with their movies, not only does that entertain movie fans, but it's for THEIR generation, movies just don't entertain you, they bring back memories

One of the few movies I've ever walked out on :wow:

There was blatant fakkitry early in and some greaseball brought his baby with him too :francis:

I wasn't feeling it and just hauled ass
Felt they tried too hard with certain themes instead of making it more subtle. Felt a little too much like the show "Black ish" at times with how they were presenting it. Overall was underwhelming and ending felt extremely rushed.

Jesus Christ , so I’m a big fan of the Wily Wonka movie starring Gene Wilder in 1971. Tried watching the new remake staring that French guy and I lasted about 25mi s before quitting. It was just :unimpressed:

I didn't mind the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie starring Johnny Depp.

Because a lot of the OG versions are shytty as well but people's noglastia makes them think and believe that they are better than they were
Dude come on. I can rewatch Total Recall over and over. Robocop too. Those were classics.

Most of these remakes are safe and lazy with mid actors and wooden performances.

You’re proving my point without even realizing it. Going by posters logic in here, every movie is a classic and the remake can and won’t be better.

Notice how the examples that posters use are classic movies.
