Especially the media (ESPN, talk radio and COLIN COWHERD)
Especially that Colin Cowherd. Dude acts like Sam Darnold is the greatest QB since Peyton Manning. These guys act like the only people that are available to draft are quarterbacks and no one else exists. Cowherd is literally about to blow a gasket because word is Saquon may go first to Cleveland.

You have
1. Darnold
2. Rosen
3. Mayfield
4. Allen
5. Jackson
6. Rudolph
7. Woodside

The chances of these guys busting is more than 80%. It's not necessarily for their talent but more so for the team they go to. The culture, the coaches and pressure to perform. Out of this list 1 probably will be a star, 2 will be good/decent the rest will fade out. Look at RG3, Ryan Leaf, all Browns QB's, Geno Smith, Manziel, Jake Locker, Jamarcus on and on

So someone please tell me why they keep hyping up dudes that have a serious chance of busting? The real talent in a draft are the position players but yet every single year they make it all about these QB's but they act like position players don't matter and don't exist.

For better or worse- a QB is the face of the franchise. The coach is the CEO and the QB is an extension of the coach...9/10 they also make the most money (after their rookie deal expires)

what is there to be confused about :what:

There are busts at EVERY position- does that mean prospects shouldn't get attention?

A QB is very important and there are a lot of teams this year that could use a QB to put them over the top (like Jacksonville) or could use one to help with the rebuild (like Cleveland). If you get a good QB you're usually pretty set for being a playoff contender and that allows you to fill in the holes to be a Champion. Regarding this class, you have a group of QBs who have been performing very well for multiple years all coming out. It's a pretty good class for QBs,

The funny thing about it tho they may be scrubs but they will still do decent IF they land on the right team. QB is way overvalued in my opinion. As long as you got a decent team and scheme with good coaching your QB will be alright.

Look at how many scrub QBs won Superbowls.
Eli, Flacco, Foles, broke Manning.

What Goff and Wentz has in common that hey was playing in a scheme that limits there flaws. Everybody who QB’d on the Viking s last year did good. Same with the Eagles.

When you have media that say never draft a RB 1 but draft a QB that could or could not bust it just doesn't make any sense.

You draft who the best guy is for your team whether it be the damn punter or center.

The media act like if it aint QB it don't matter. We have seen that you dont need a QB to win a superbowl. You need position guys.

It's by far the most important position without one you're going nowhere so teams are gonna take chances on them as they should if they don't have a QB
