Why are people overhyping these NFL Draft Quaterbacks?

If you get a good defense you can win a superbowl.

If you get a good oline and a rb you can go 12-4.

A good QB does not mean everything. The sports media keep acting like a QB especially this crop of QB's will win you 10 superbowls. These cats might not even get 6 wins next season.

if you draft a punter or a center with the number 1 pick you deserve to be fired and never have a job in football ever again. The draft is about VALUE picks...noone ever says dont draft an Edge Rusher or CB with the first pick- why? If the skills warrant it, its great value.

Meaning...QB, Edge and tier 1 CB take up alot of a teams salary cap. If you can get a talented person on your roster for dirt cheap- you can afford to pay everyone else and likely make a run ie Seahawks and Eagles. I think RB have the shortest lifespan in the NFL of all skilled players- this also adds to the never draft RB talk.

teams not needing a QB is bullshyt..of course you need a QB to win a SB. And Before to tell me Nick Foles..he played LIGHTS OUT...that was an anomaly but it was Carson Wentz (and the defense) who put the Eagles in position to be a number 1 seed and make the SB

really? you do realize 6 of the last 9 SB winners- the loser of the SB scored at least 20 points...so defense win SB huh?

this aint 1975- the days of 10-7 or 14-10 winning scores are over

Because QB is the most important position in football and the NFL needs a new crop of great ones in a post-Manning, soon to be post-Brady league.

The funny thing is that Allen is gonna be a bust and yet there's no honest convo about it because selling QBs is the #1 priority. Darnold...I'll admit I thought he was the next coming when I saw that PSU/USC bowl game. But last year he was...ok? Lots of terrible decision making. Same with Rosen. Both dudes just do stupid shyt.

Baker Mayfield looked good to me...but I'm not sure how his personality will mesh.

Rosen is the real deal and has Elite/Top 5 potential.

Lamar has scary elite potential as well.

Darnold won't be elite, but he can be a very solid QB. Turnovers will be an issue though, and that throwing motion of his may not be fixable.

Mayfield and Allen have huge bust potential. Wouldn't be comfortable going all in on either (and I like Mayfield)

Man naw you need a game manager and a great defense.
Ravens 01, bucs 02, seahawks 13, broncos 15, eagles 17. Even the 15 panthers had a great defense and got to the superbowl depsite cam throwing 57% completion.

Hell half brady superbowls were won because of a position player. Qb is just the only thing people identify with especially casuals.
